doesn't already know the answer.

25. And can prove it, too
Ari would be batshit crazy to lie. He got a sweatheart deal with the immunity, and there's just no way he's going to toss that away... ain't gonna happen.

15. Have no fear, I am!
:hi:

I've been doing my very best (darn work, school, and kid for making it so hard!) to keep up with Liar Libby's trial. Team Libby has already indicated that they are going to try to poke holes in Ari's testimony, insinuating that Ari is lying to cover up his own criminal behavior (hence the refusal to testify unless he received immunity).

19. This would seem to indicate otherwise
-snip-

"The deal Fitzgerald made was unusual enough that Libby’s defense lawyers questioned whether it could be true. They suggested that Fitzgerald got a secret summary of Fleischer’s testimony — a deal they want to discuss with jurors when Fleischer takes the stand against Libby on Monday."

26. Nope. Not true.
The prosecution is putting on its case now. Fleischer is a prosecution witness. In fact, he is the only White House official that Mr. Fitzgerald planned to call to the witness stand. (See pretrial Document 80.)

28. I think that you
will enjoy that one. And I know that you will enjoy what takes place in the court today -- in fact, in the next 72 hours. I have a feeling (call it a suspicion, if you will) that you will find Mr. Fitzgerald to be a most impressive character. I would not be surprised if you demand that the '08 election leads to his becoming US Attorney General. And I will support you in this.

31. Thanks, H2O Man!
I usually have to print out your journal entries to read on the way home. I could never get any work done between your journals and fdl. I could only imagine Mr. Fitzgerald's performance in the courtroom. It's really too bad that you're not allowed to blog this trial.

Fitz as US Attorney General, hmmm I could go for that. But I have a feeling that presidents from both parties wouldn't want him in that position for fear that he would come after them. lol. I think I rather he become a US Supreme Court Justice. That would fit him real well, imo. Either way, after this trial, he can only go up. That is his destiny.

the "Alexander Butterfield" of this "gate"?

This will be worth watching. I just hope a few committee chairmen down the street are also watching.

30. Actually, Ari Probably WILL Be Smiling
Ari's the smartest of the bunch and made a deal w/ Fitz early on and got immunity. Ari's got the goods and could be Fitz's star witness. This is where it gets really, really good!

32. You could be right.
But then again, wouldn't Fleischer protect the folks that hired him? Or would he have to choose between the office of the presidency and the office of the vice presidency. Me thinks he'd favor the office of the presidency.

Edited on Mon Jan-29-07 11:35 AM by Beetwasher
Fitz didn't give him immunity so he could protect the Pres. Immunity is usually contingent and can be taken away if he doesn't tell it all, or perjures or pleads the fifth. Ari was smart and knew that the ONLY chance he had was to turn and turn early and get immunity. He had to do it first though or someone else would turn, get immunity and HE'D get fucked by THEM. Ari knew the calibre of the snakes he was involved with. Remember, Ari saw newspaper reports that what he did could get the death penalty and he FREAKED.
