1. That is a horrible story. It seems like there is a war on girls and women in this country. nt

7. There is. It has been going on for a long time
It almost does not seem to matter what you look at, there are men trying to control women in pretty much every aspect of their lives. From job equality to the legal system to religion to their very ability to decide what to do with their own bodies.

3. If I were him, I'd hire someone 'to take care of it'

I remember someone talking about how a woman was attacked by some guy with diplomatic immunity, and the cop who told the victim that she had no case because of the immunity added ...' but I can give you the name of someone who can break his fingers' and she hired the person and they did it.

Call me crazy, but when normal folks are finally pushed beyond reasonable limits, they will find a way to get justice, even at the risk of their own lives.

5. i know a few people
who would go that route. in fact i once knew a man who went to prison: when the person who murdered his son got off on a technicality, he found him and shot him in the head. same guy offered to kill the woman who killed my daughter, but i told him no, i can't go there. i'm going to see Bekah when i die, and i don't have time for prison in this life.

in this case i would certainly sympathize with this father if he sought out some street justice, but i think his way, of taking it to the press, is a lot more sensible. still i can only imagine the frustration of both he and his daughter, the victim. when the person who killed my daughter got only 4 years, i just kept protesting in my mind, Bekah is not chopped liver! that's how it feels. like she's just chopped liver, and what they did to her was just a "mistake." ??? bullshit, it was a serious crime that deserves REAL time.

4. so rape
is just a bad mistake? i agree with a comment upthread. women and girls don't count. i hate to see us go backward like this. probation for rape. that's wrong.

6. Yeah, who cares about the girl
After all, it was just rape and her life has been made a living hell, but so what? Her father even had to send her out of state just so she could go to school again but hey, she gets to travel! Boys will be boys and the brutal rape of this girl was just a "mistake". :sarcasm:

Now the little darlings who made this "mistake" have been transferred to other schools so they can target other girls, someone else's daughters. I'm sure they've learned their lessons now that they've been taught the true value of a girl's life.

I'm hearin' ya, barbtries.
