6. Yes. He was more politic than I. Same meaning.
He was asking for leadership where none has so far been in evidence. He called it "help from the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue."

3. He's always worth tuning in for - a tough straight talker...
He also said maybe the prez has been waiting and will jump in now.

9. Yes, that's true
The fact remains, there has been little direct involvement from Obama.

12. Bingo!
I seriously doubt that Obama's going to take a firm stand on anything in the health reform bill. As long as he doesn't draw a line in the sand, he doesn't lose if what he wants isn't included.

13. He makes me wanna tear my hair out.
His silence is deafening. Everybody's taking about how needs to lead. Maureen Dowd, Frank Rich, Anna Quindlen. I'm not holding my breath.

14. There are only two possibilities I can think of
1. He wants to not tarnish his own reputation and take the hit if things go wrong, so that he can win again in 2012.

2. He really wants the Baucus bill and doesn't much care about the weakness of a public option.

17. Weiner needs to realize that the current public option is far too weak
If you want incrementalism, just open Medicare to voluntary buy-in ferchrissakes?
