Republicans: the party of spoiled little children
The public option, as we all know, IS the compromise. Early on, congressional Democrats took single-payer off the table in an act of appeasement towards moderates and conservatives. Senate Democrats have watered down the public option and the health care bill in general in a successful effort to appease the insurance companies.

Yet Republicans are still screaming, "socialized medicine!" like a bunch of angry little children mad at their parents for making them do their homework-even AFTER their parents gave them junk food as an incentive to do their fucking homework.

Republicans: the party of spoiled little children upset that their team lost.

2. K+R!
I am so irritated every time I hear a republican whining about how the Dems aren't being bipartisan. Bullsh*t! Single payer was automatically pulled off the table because we knew they wouldn't go for it. The public option is only a last resort for anyone who can't afford any of the other options for insurance. Plus, we ALL have to buy into some kind of insurance now. We have caved on everything except for the small shred of a public option that is left.

3. Whining and crying and making a fuss is their strategy

....and it works. Every fucking time. Including this one (HCR).

So we can laugh at it all we want and post cute little pictures of ridicule, but the REAL tragedy is that our Dem pols respond to this strategy and sell their own constituents out because of it.

Yeah, I'm laughing so hard I want to cry.

5. I agree. This is really a strategy of intimidating the Democratic leaders...
..most of whom are spineless cowards.

6. Sometimes I think that their strategy serves a dual purpose
As you say, it is clear to you that the Democratic leadership is full of spineless cowards. So the dual purpose is 1) putting political pressure to get what they want from the Democrats AND 2) demonstrate to the American People exactly how cowardly the Democrats are (Americans REALLY hate wishy-washy cowards).

7. Well, that tends to happen when you're used to getting what you want.
The way our system is set up, with so many of our representatives being owned, that will tend to spoil conservatives.
