So how many here have already had the Swine Flu?
I caught it 2 and a half weeks ago while on a business trip. Didn't realize I had it at first (Thought I had just eaten a bad sub from Sheetz.) but had it confirmed a day later.

As far as I know, no one else in my family has caught it. However, one of my good friends is down with it now.

1. I think I had it in the summer--definitely had some sort of flu, because
it came on suddenly, had a fever, chills and the most insane hacking cough for more than a week. My boys both got sick a few weeks ago, and we assumed it was H1N1--within a few days of their illness, I started to get a terrible headache and sore throat and that "something's coming on" feeling. Went to bed early, got up the next day, and I was fine. I think I fought it off with antibodies from the summer illness.

8. My niece's daughter had it.

Was ill with 103 to 105 temps, ended up with pneumonia. Was out of school for two weeks. She was kept isolated from the rest of the family as much as possible. One other child in the family had it and only lasted a couple of days. She is 8 and he is 14, don't know if that made the difference in how bad it was or not.

9. We've all been OK so far, but 20 percent of the kids at the elementary school are out sick.
So I figure it's pretty much just a matter of time.

10. I know local schools have started sending around information
On when to keep kids homes, helping doctors track it, etc. Also, teachers are now being advised on how to handle potential cases if symptoms are witnessed in the classroom.

Definitely a lot of flu activity going on right now.

11. Pretty sure I had it several weeks ago. It was some flavor of flu, and since
seasonal flu doesn't come with the GI symptoms and some of the people I come into casual contact with had confirmed cases of H1N1, it was probably swine flu.

12. I think I had it in late August.
I was never so sicker in my life.

It came on with a stiff neck, then I had trouble breathing. My temp at its highest was 103 -- I had chills that went on like gangbusters for more than an hour. Those would come on without any warning, especially when I thought I was turning a corner, and would send me straight to bed. Nothing -- absolutely nothing -- helped drugwise. I was sick for about a week, and it took me a few weeks after that to feel "normal" again.

And I think I had a MILD case of it.

14. Yeah, days 2 and 3 threw me for an absolute loop
I think I lose something like 8 pounds in water weight over those two days.
