3. What gets me is the music
It's sets just the right tone in almost every scene, rising to a crescendo in the right places.

It's a masterpiece of cinema, IMHO.

He was a giant iguana with his own log. He got out climbed my fearful neighbor's tree, who wouldn't come out. The fire dept. came, had traffic stopped, got on the news, Elvis went to a reptile home with his log that had his name carved into it... bye Elvis.

12. Pynchon's "V" is a tour de force of black humor, convoluted plot twists and
fairly accurate takes on the human condition.

it's a novel....

This was his warm up novel to "Gravity's Rainbow" arguably the most astonishing thing I have ever read.

Read "V" first, then Gravity, if you like his style.

V the television show is about reptilian space aliens. The original series was awesome, this one looks to be the same.......

13. Back in the 80's, I just remember watching this freaky weird show about aliens
Edited on Wed Oct-28-09 11:58 PM by Jennicut
that look like people but really look like lizards underneath. It used to scare me when I was a kid. I guess I was about 9 when it came out.

They are remaking V for a new series on ABC. My husband is so excited.

14. Yep - my favorite shot was the ultra beautiful female leader of the
space aliens unhinging her absolutely beautiful jaw like a snake and eating a whole hamster......

My sister and her boyfriend ran screaming from the room. Awesome.

15. people should not be afraid of their government
governments should be afraid of the people

Of course, I have a sort of complaint. When he says 'my turn' and flicks two knives across the room into guys on each side of Creedy. Why couldn't he have taken out Creedy right there and avoided killing the rest of them? They wouldn't keep fighting after he was dead would they?

Of course, cinematically that would have wiped out an amazing slow-motion fight scene, and we cannot have that.

16. I enjoyed it the first time...
After that each successive viewing just got sillier and sillier. probably didn't help that I was currently embroiled in a Libertarian forum where everyone was basically dry-humping Guy Fawkes masks.
