http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/27/jamie-dimon-head-of-jpmor_n_336193.htmlRead this link and Dimon says anyone can fail...sure..
But Dimon's history says different. When the bank that Dimon lead in the late 90s was in trouble, he gave a rousing speech to the assembled group saying he would save the bank. That he would work with employees, together, to save the Chicago based bank, and the thousands of jobs in the bank, which was a successor to First National Bank of Chicago.
Dimon promised the bank would prosper and the bank would survive.
Dimon was wrong, the bank failed. Bought out by Chase.
Dimon went to Chase, and was next in line to become CEO which he eventually became. Included in the move was a huge insentive of millions of dollars for Dimon to move to Chase.
Now, what happened to those thousands of jobs in Chicago?..Thousands were let go, because corporate was no longer in Chicago, but elsewhere..that bank is gone, and so are the jobs..but Dimon situation imporoved. (all you have now, are hundreds of branches of Chase in place} Dimon didn't
fail to get millions and move up the corporate ladder. He stepped up on the backs of those who worked at that Chicago bank. ___________________________________________________________________________________
When Dimon gave that speech back then, I decided to follow this guy, closely. The speech was highlighted in the Chicago papers and he was going to save jobs. I wanted to see if he kept his word, about saving those jobs, and helping Chicago keep its bank. I guess he lied. Another CEO asshole.
