Twitter shuts down 33 fake accounts created by state Republicans in an attempt to lambast Dems
Twitter, Inc., shut down 33 fake Twitter accounts created by Republicans using the names of Democratic state representatives. The Republican scheme was to send out posts under the Democrats' names mocking the liberal tax-and-spend bastards.

"That's unfortunate," was state Republican Chairman Chris Healy's response when told of Twitter, Inc.'s decision. "I'm not quite sure what the issue is, other than that the Democrats were successful in stopping free speech."

Healy's party may have suffered a setback with the loss of its Twitter campaign, but Republicans are still operating the 33 Web sites they created using the names of those same Democratic lawmakers. As far as anyone knows, this is the first time any state party has used such a tactic to mock its state opponents. "It's our idea, actually," said Healy. He said Republicans want voters to understand how badly they're being screwed by the Democrats who approved billions in new taxes rather than cut spending.

Healy has no intention of shutting those sites down just because of Democratic protests. "They didn't think of it first, so that's why they're whining," Healy said...Healy is unrepentant: "I really don't care what a bunch of college professors from liberal colleges think."

17. Same old dirty tricks, new technology. Dirty tricks are all they have, they'll never win popularity.
Much to the despair of G.H.W."Sick Poppy" Bush.

5. My, my how the Republicans have changed their tune.
They're complaining about stopping free speech now, but it wasn't all that long ago that the media was prohibited from showing the flag-draped caskets of dead U.S. soldiers returning home from Iraq.

It wasn't too long ago the Faux News got daily talking points from the White House, to control the message being put out for public consumption.

Now they apparently are against all those things.

Just like they are now against increasing the deficit, but did nothing with spending for Bush's wars, which doubled the deficit during his terms in office.

The Republicans still want tax cuts, even though 8 years of Bush tax cuts for the wealthy did nothing to create new jobs, prevent the recession, or boost the economy.

Can you say hypocrite, because that's what every last Republican is: a hypocrite. And you cannot trust them to do anything, since you never really know where they stand...on anything.

10. I wish this surprised me
Not too long ago I had to suffer through a continuing education seminar at work. It was something about IT security. The details escape me but I did win the soduku race and took second in the crossword challenge taking place on my row.

The point is at some point the guy rambling on and on at the front of the room said that someone set up a dummy e-mail account with our CEO's name. This person then used this account to send a bunch of e-mail messages out to people for some nefarious purpose that he was unclear on or maybe I lost interest again before he explained but the feds were involved. No doubt this was the highlight of the company's IT rent-a-cops who no doubt are aware of my subversive DU activities.

I wondered at the time what law this broke really. It was not an internal account, it was something like CEOname.companyname@gmail.com you know with the real CEO and company names in there. You'd have to be an idiot to think it was real like oh sure a company this size would use gmail for official e-mail. They shut it down though and are quite smug about it.

Maybe I should pay attention at these things.

Does anyone know a six letter word for "flower arranging art". The second letter is a k and the fourth letter is definitely a b?

11. What an arrogant SOB!
The pretense of values is out the window these days. It's an all out war for these people, sadly.

I think we need to look at our own state's Republic parties to see what they have planned to discredit our Dems. How do we do that?

19. I used to love to read the Advocate when I lived in CT.
I really loved this part:

Democrats hold a veto-proof majority in the state House, outnumbering Republicans 114-37. The Democrats also have a 24-12 margin in the state Senate. Those numbers have been frustrating the hell out of GOP leaders, who have seen their share of General Assembly seats shrivel in successive legislative elections.

Sounds like they must be bitter!
