1. I Volunteered for 2 years. Can I live in the enchanted castle?
I want to take a dump on Cinderella's throne.

2. I'll work it on for ya. You know they used to (not sure if they still do) give free night stays in
Cinderella's castle as a prize? You could go potty all you want in luxury! ha

9. BWAHAHAHA! ok, I wanna see that just for my own humor. :)
and to the other posts, even if it encourages more guests to come with the free pass, at least they're offering it. It's a nice token to say volunteer, Disney VoluntEARS do a lot in the community.

3. Kinda nice idea...but, smacks of some kind of promo to get
people in the park. Now, is it true that attendance is down? Would this increase attendance and also those free volunteers might bring friends who are not free. I hate to be a skeptic, but the Disney Co. isn't exactly nice, is it?

6. Well..you might get in for free
but you still have to spend money once inside the park..and if you don't have to pay to get in you're more likely to spend MORE inside the park, which is where they make their real money.

7. This is all about marketing...
Attendance at the Disney parks is significantly down. They are using all kinds of
incentives and special offers to get people in their parks.

I do applaud them for having a promotion that encourages volunteering. However, I'm not sure
this will spark sales. The problem for most families is the cost of getting to Disney (plane
tickets for multiple family members) and the cost of hotels and food at Disney. A Diet Coke
is $5 for Pete's sake.

Also, the pricing of Disney tickets is interesting. A three-day ticket into Disneyland is $231 for
one person. However, an *eight* day ticket into Disneyland is $246--only $15 more for five more days!
So...it will be interesting to see how Disney "values" this one-day ticket into the park.

Sorry to rain on this parade. I do think it's great that Disney is encouraging volunteerism. So,
maybe I should just shut it. ;-)

8. it's not remotely close to socialism
no form of VOLUNTEERING is.

not only that, but there is no govt. involvement whatsoever when a private co (disney) encourages/rewards volunteerism.
