Line Of People Forms At Orlando Salvation Army Office


ORLANDO, Fla. -- Within hours of accepting applications in Orlando on Monday, more than twice as many people have requested assistance for the Christmas season from the Salvation Army than all of last year.

The Salvation Army told Local 6 News that it began accepting online applications at 3:30 a.m., and by 9 a.m. there were more than double the requests from all of 2008.

A long line of people were also attempting to apply in person Monday morning at the Salvation Army's Orange County office, located at 416 W. Colonial Drive.
