Is anyone else fed up with all the ads at HuffPo?
I'm sure part of it is my computer, but I have cable, and it seems to take forever to navigate around that website these days. I understand that they have to pay the bills, but c'mon ... huge, animated ads, and tons of them.

I think I'll let DUers do the work for me :) and just forgo all that crap over there. Am I the only one bothered by this?

1. I'm fed up with the slowness of the site and the tabloid-ish content
HuffPost is slower than ESPN. I didn't even think that was possible.

2. Why not just use Firefox with Adblock Plus?
It's free and you'll never see ads on any website again. It really speeds things up.

4. I admit it
I'm not much of a techie and I guess I'm intimidated by that which is unfamiliar to me.

6. It's not too difficult and I know people here are always helpful
You can get the browser here:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html

and Adblock Plus here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Give it a try. You can do it!

7. I can ignore most ads, but when they start eating up half a page,
moving, dancing, singing, etc. I get really irritated.

And my cable connection handles them quite well, but I was traveling recently and the hotel connection was s-l-o-w; I couldn't read the HuffPost site, it just took too damn long for everything to load.

Also seems to be a real deterioration in content. I like some of the lighter forums, like Living and Style, but the overall quality of information is really lacking.

8. Just as bad as FOX
Why not visit a credible news site?

9. Which, of course, excludes Fox...

...since it has as many ads and less credibility.

10. I'm disgusted with HuffPo entirely. I didn't realize they were such
middle of the road ass kissers. They have nothing interesting for me there.

15. There is a lot of fluff
but sometimes I actually want to read the entertainment news, and Style and the Green page. Lots of it is duplicate posting. The comments really suck, though. And the "comments" software is extremely difficult to navigate around. Much better here, for sure.

12. I block almost all the ads.
At work its darn near impossible. It doesn't help we're still on Internet Explorer 6 but the site crashes my browser all the time. I'm glad I don't have to fool with all the ads at home but the scripts suck major eggs.

14. I'm finding that I don't care for whatever is linked to there
I don't go there on my own, only when following a link
