4. No, but the House Democrats pretty much have
Veto threats didn't work very well for Clinton and they won't work very well for Obama if he tries. They aren't credible because the President has too much riding on a bill passing versus getting nothing. However, the House can credibly threaten to kill any bill that doesn't have a public option which means the Senate conservadems are going to have to have to negotiate with them.

5. Getting a straight answer on Health Care Reform
has not been happening lately. This White House believes that everything they do has to be spun as a victory. They will remain quiet rather than stand on principle on things.

He has repeatedly said the same thing, that reform MUST bend the cost curve and the public option bends it best. However, he always continues, he doesn't INSIST that the public option MUST be in there IF someone can provide an alternative that is better.

Over and over and over he and his spokespersons have said exactly the same thing.
