This past year we planned to have an ObamaChristmas but actually didn't.
Christmas of 2008 we did not want to do anything to help the economy under bush. So we planned to have Christmas on January 25th after bush's term was over. When we got to it we realized we liked not spending that money so we canceled the ObamaChristmas. Canceling it again this year, same reason, we like keeping the money.

I guess I have bush to thank for it, our wanting him to fail has allowed us to keep our money for ourselves.

1. Obama is a big proponent of national service.
So I would think that spending a little time helping your community might be a more apt "ObamaChristmas" in any case.

Maybe?

2. We don't give to ourselves
we give to the food bank and to the needy. We also give money anonymously.

5. Your 'style' is hard not to notice, or forget. For example "I don't drink with you."
Really, its a classic, and not in a good way.

8. Yes, I know, if you had given me an order and I disobeyed you'd told me to get out of your
house or found a rope and a tree.

10. Why certainly, you may ask why.
But then again, I won't necessarily answer, but you most assuredly can ask.

I'm kinda like God in that respect.

7. This is an excellent Christmas idea ~~ for which I cannot take the credit.
There is a pretty goodly sized group of us who run around together. Each year, it has been shop, wrap, shop, wrap, etc. With so many of us, it got to be quite a chore.

So last year one of the gals in the group out of the blue suggested that instead of exchaning gifts, we all get together for dinner. We got a banquet room at a restaurant that has a live band and a dance floor and we had a ball.

So this year...we are gonna do the same thing.

Dinner was great, too. This is a German restaurant and they have wonderful prime rib in addition to traditional German cooking. My pal and I planned our get together with the banquet manager and we had a choice of 4 entrees ~~ two American style and 2 German style. And...there have a bakery on the premises and we had the most wonderful German chocolate cake for dessert ~~ which they cut and served for us. Dinner and dessert ran about $20/person. Anyone who wanted hard liquor, beer or wine ~~ the place has a full bar and drinks were in addition to the price of the meal. There were about 40 people at this dinner ~~ so you can see how much it cut down on the Christmas spending and additional work. The $20 I spent ~~ and that included the tip ~~ would never have covered the time, money and effort for Christmas gifts. Besides the dinner, live music, and the party we all had ~~ best gift ever!

Just a suggestion for a really wonderful get together with friends and family.

:hi:

9. I started Christmas early.
Today I shopped for and bought a new winter coat for a young boy in need. He gets it tomorrow anonymously. It makes me feel good that I could help him.
