Ben Nelson Open to Trimmed-Down Public Option Approach - Opt In
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A key Democratic senator says he may be open to a government-run insurance program that allows states to participate only if they ask to participate.

Oh for God's sake! Why don't they just have a duel? Waxman would be my pick, because he is a mean little f*****, and he wouldn't hesitate. Maxine Waters would be his second.

2. It is beyond ridiculous. Nelson isn't "key" to anything
whatever happened to the "nuclear option"? The GOP brought us their "contract on America" with only 52 votes, and we can't get a half assed public OPTION passed. Pathetic.

4. It sounds insane to me that any state would
"opt out". Has Ben even asked his constituents what they want?

6. Opt IN is 1000 times worse than opt OUT.
He knows that if his constituents see, or expect to see a benefit for them, they will not allow an opt-out.
