From "Kiss My Big Blue Butt" blog

Oh sweet manna from heaven, I must be living right ---
Cathie Adams has just been named the new Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas. Cathie is Phyllis Schlafly's protégé.

She ain't no fan of Obama, and charmed her minions with this statement:

"While many question Barak Hussein Obama’s ‘religion’…, the more important question is whether he has a ‘relationship’ with Jesus Christ because that is the only HOPE that any of us have to obtain eternal life. I personally see NO evidence that Obama has that kind of ‘saving faith.’”

Plus, she thinks science is a tool of the devil. She opposed money for cancer research with this reasoning:

“Scientists are on the verge of cloning humans, injecting them with diseases and studying them, then killing them.”

What a gift to Democrats this woman is.

I love it. Seems like we should want some voices of reason on the other side - that way, even if we should lose an election, the people who gain power are reasonable, rational human beings. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any of those on the other side. Pitiful, really. I remember a time when I thought the Arlen Specter's of the world were right wing fanatics. Pretty bad when some of those now seem the voice of reason. How in the hell did we get in this surreal place?

edited to correct spelling of Arlen's name.

7. The Rethugs are going there.
We have to make sure we aren't dragged in.

The Rethugs have people living on the edge of the flat Earth. In order to mitigate this is any way, they are trying to push "False Equivalence."

They compare Rachel and KO to Beck and Coulter. Two of them pull crap out of their butt with no basis in fact. If they can make people believe that they are on the same level, it will pull KO and Keith down in the general public's eyes.

They will do this politically too. They were trying to equate Palin with Hillary. That is laughable, but not to people who don't pay attention. They are doing it now.

Question: Why is Ann Coulter on anybody's teevee offering opinions? She represents the loons. Why do they have her on with semi-coherent people? It elevates her rantings.

Same thing for Michelle Malkin. Watch who appears on these shows. I expect for some of the other loons to show up.

3. Ah, Phyllis
"a vote for the ERA is a vote for lesbianism, satanism and killing your children" Schlafly (I'm paraphrasing but it was something equally absurd). Now THERE'S a blast from the past. And she has a protegee who is now the new Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas.

6. Memories Of Phyllis...
In the late 70s I went to Northern Ill University, Schafly lived in DeKalb (known to the locals as Mrs. Bitchenstein). I was working at the student station and she came in one day wanting us to put on a half hour program she was producing and claimed that there were "thousands" in the area who would tune in. As a courtesy (what a sap I was) I promised to audition the tape (even in those days I knew what to expect)...loaded with anti-abortion and creationism nonesense and every couple minutes begging for donations. Considering the station was solely operated and programmed by students, I tried to be nice and explain to her that it was against station and university policy to broadcast something this controversial and if she had a problem to take it up with school administration or to take the show to any of a number of local stations. She sneered at me and first threatened to have me "expelled" for "abusing" a facility "I am paying for with my tax dollars". I asked her how much of her taxes went to our little station? I then reached in my pocket for $1 and told her...here take your money back.

8. I was horrified
a few weeks ago when George Stephenopolis (sp?) actually had Michelle Malkin in the round table segment. What in god's name was he thinking???? I think the media is going way tooo far in trying to prove their non bias by catering to these nut jobs. It's one thing to have this batshit crazy on to spew her venomous hate as just a guest, but to elevate her as a commentator during the round table was absurd.
