GOP Congressman Leading Fight Against Rangel Has His Own Ethics Woes
Color me surprised.

In a rich irony, the Republican congressman leading the fight to have Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) ousted as chair of the House's top tax-writing body turns out to have ethics problems of his own.

Rep. John Carter (R-TX) had nearly $300,000 in unreported profits from oil stock sales in 2006 and 2007, Roll Call reported yesterday.

2. Whatever it takes

According to the article he paid the taxes, reported them on his tax return, he just did not report them on his statement to the Senate. Rangel completely lied all the way through. Still getting subsidized housing.

Rangel should be kicked out of the Senate, lose all pensions, pay back all money he has cheated the government out of, and then be thrown in jail just like you or I would be if we did the same thing.

Simple solution....the guilty in government rarely are punished so why should they stop it if they can get by with it??

3. Kicking the Gentleman Out of The Senate Would Be Pretty Hard, Sir....
Your anger would be easier to take seriously if you did not botch the most basic elements of the matter.

4. Obviously this guy never never never heard of John 8
That's the passage involving Christ telling a crowd of people getting fired up to stone a young lady that the sinless amongst them was welcome to cast the first stone, and no one was able to do so.

Obviously Carter never heard of that chapter - most likely it's not in the GOP sanitized version that he reads.

5. if the other poster is correect, then the dude just never reported it but he paid the taxes
though still an infringement of the rules, its a lot different than rangel not paying the taxes or reporting it...
