Why did 30 republicants vote against Senator Al Franken’s anti rape amendment?
Not because they support rape. No because they feel that the power of the corporation exceeds the power of law and the Constitution. They feel that a worker is subject to the control of the corporation and can sign away their rights given to them by the Constitution.

They believe CorpAmerica uber alles. These are fascists by definition.

I hope some corp owned Democrat like asshat Inouye doesn’t kill the amendment.

I love saying "Senator Al Franken". I send oreally an email a day just saying, "Al Franken, Senator - Billo, kinky pervo".

8. Someone getting raped or any thing else is secondary to the power of CorpAmerica.
The contract signed by an employee can waive all Constitutional rights. CorpAmerica uber alles.

4. They voted against it because Franken was for it
That's pretty much it. It could have been a bill to declare English the official language of the US or article of impeachment against Obama or something specifying that the days of the week are named Sunday, Monday, etc., and they'd still vote against it because Franken proposed it.

14. I agree, but think it is more important than just dislike for Senator Al Franken.
These men, I believe, believe that corporations are more important than people. IMHO they are basically fascists.

6. Two reasons
Because they are "IDIOTS", and because their corporate masters told them to!

17. They think so little of women they cant conceive that this would harm them.
And IMO the conservative women will still vote for them.

10. More importantly, why is Daniel Inouye pro-rape?
That has to be the only reason he wants to take the Franken Amendment back out of the bill.

13. That and the fact that Franken's behind the amendment
A good chunk of the right spun Franken up as the most evil thing to approach the Senate this time around, so I can see them getting for-its-own-sake obstructionist about anything he says.

16. I agree, but I think they hate freedom more. I believe that their decision would have been
the same if the victims were men. They believe their class are favored by God and they are to rule the rest of us.

Agree they believe women are below them, but they also believe all lower classes are beneath them.

18. it's indefensible... as they will learn to their sorrow
They can hardly respond to the ads that will run, next election season, with "I got a lot of money for that vote, and I stand by it."

(Doesn't "Senator Franken" sound great? I have kind of a crush on him. He is so impressive and has really done a perfect job of changing his persona from comedian to hard-working, intelligent public servant. Of course, I may be a bit biased there.)
