1. The ugly truth is most banks meet criteria for being closed
and the uglier truth is, by the time FDIC does get around to closing them,
their liabilities, which FDIC has to pay, are hundreds of times higher than they would have been
if they had been closed earlier.

No wonder FDIC complains of being out of money.

2. I'm waiting for Citigroup, JPMorgan, or Bank of America to appear on that list
Everything I'm reading online says they are walking zombies. They are trying to have everyone voluntarily cut up their credit cards before Christmas.

As I noted on AllentownJake's other thread today.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Regions Financial Corp. has announced plans to close 121 branches in cost-saving move, with three of the locations in Alabama.

Regions announced the consolidation plan Tuesday while reporting a third quarter net loss of $437 million, or 37 cents a share, compared with net income of $79.5 million, or 11 cents per share, in the year-ago period.

The three Alabama branches affected are in Huntsville, Cullman and Montgomery.
