4. i agree...its amazing what we miss when we focus on the media circus
its also pretty frightening that our biggest banks basically have their own market on top of the stock market that no one is allowed to look at. dark money should be the target of any progressive minded person in this country

5. Obama should have put her in charge of the SEC.
She has proven herself to be not only brilliant, but honest and trustworthy. The same cannot be said about his economic team who did everything in their power to shut her up. That in itself is a crime for which they should be held accountable.

Summers, Rubin and Greenspan who comes across as a really, angry ideologue with a god complex acted like Mafia thugs protecting their turf towards Brooksley Born. His angry opposition to hearing anything negative about his fateful, Ayn Rand ideology, his, Summers' even Arthur Levitt's outright threatening opposition to Brooksley Born's warnings, their overt and successful efforts to silence her when she sounded the alarm, are directly responsible for the destruction of this country's economy.

Only Arthur Levitt has apologized to her. Greenspan, who argued with her against, incredibly, 'regulating fraud', has not acknowledged how right she was or how he stood in the way of her efforts to reign in the craziness that brought this country down.

Imho, Greenspan should be indicted for facilitating fraud, which he admits to fairly openly. Now, he calmly states that he was wrong. And the awful thing about that in HIS opinion, is how HE feels about it. What it has done to the country, means nothing to him. These people are dangerous, as we now know, and yet Obama sought THEIR advice, Rubins too rather than seeking out those who were RIGHT and going after those who were WRONG.

Brooksley Born is one of many quiet heros that the public did not who know were fighting for this country behind the scenes for so long. Had the media not been kissing up to Greenspan and been doing their jobs, Born would have had all the support she needed from the public, and the 'Boys' Club' would not have found it so easy to silence her.

The program is must see television and she should be overseeing the current mess rather than the criminals who caused it.
