Poll question: ''Let’s forgive the NAZI war criminals.''
Poppy Bush wants us to move on. He is quoted as stating the above in The New York Times of April 14, 1990.

The thing is, we can’t. Besides the leadership thing, We the People don’t have the money needed to move on. It’s been ripped off by Poppy and his dim son’s cronies – through war, gangster corporate capitalisim, and insider fiscal policy...You know, NAZI stuff.

“Until I came to DU 7 years ago, I had never in my life heard of Prescott Bush and his Nazi sympathies. Ever.” -- Hekate

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x6842806

My question: How many more DUers say the same?

The question comes from the discovery of NAZI-connected art at Southern Methodist University, future home of the George W Bush pretzeldental lie-bury: Robert Edsel Finds Some Nazi-Looted Art Hanging in SMU's Meadows Museum

Thanks in advance!

26. Octafish...my friend, I love bob's mind you know that I love your's that is a given...
I sometimes wonder why it is we can't just tag these dudes with a little red sticky dot or some such so if in the event they're observed in some supermarket check-out lane somewhere where there is a where where we could not otherwise see them; or should I suggest for others that are not able to see them for what they are

Here, as a mere passing for instance i.e. the queen at Balmoral...save me from these thoughts my dearest you keep faith :hi:

4. Big Yes to that question. And something else most Americans don't know...
Two Warren Commission members played big roles in the rise of post-war NAZI power,
a fact curiously missing from American history and any mention of the Warren Commission.

I had never heard of Bush/Nazi connections before I read it here. Any more details for us the uninformed?

The sad thing is though, it wouldn't surprise me. The last eight years were pretty much from a Nazi playbook.

13. That's why DU's so important, gleaner. One can learn what Corporate McPravda tries to hide.
A little background:

Heir to the Holocaust: How the Bush Family Fortune Is Linked to the NAZIs

Know your BFEE: Reinhard Gehlen

Know your BFEE: Hitler’s Bankers Shaped Vietnam War

Know your BFEE: Eugenics and the NAZIs - The California Connection

Know your BFEE: Scions of the Military Industrial Complex

Know your BFEE: Nazis couldn’t win WWII, so they backed Bushes.

They're not perfect, but they got a lot o' names and dates, along with links to details. Best of all are the contributions of DUers.

The late George de Mohrenschildt, Lee Harvey Oswald's handler, who's address book contained personal contact info for George HW Bush. A suicide, the same day he was to be interviewed by an investigator from the House Select Committee on Assassinations.

Thank you for giving a damn, my Friend!

31. Thank you very much ...
For your time compiling these links and their source material. I have been reading and following links for a good part of the day, and my husband joined me.

There were snippets from the Kennedy years that I was somewhat familiar with. Names, associations. I was 15 when he was assassinated and it made a huge impact on my life and the lives of everyone in America. There was more though, particularly on the Bush family that I was not familiar with, and it is compelling and fascinating.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I can see from the number of links and the meticulous research that went into the original posts that you have spent a lot of time and energy bringing material from the dark into the light. It is too bad the press could not have troubled to look into any one of these leads. That is ostensibly what they are here for.

I still have some reading to do, but I am very curious to finish all of it. I just wanted to stop and thank you for all your help.

Goddamnit, give it a fucking rest already. Bush did enough to get busted for war crimes as of shit he did A FEW YEARS AGO. Why not focus on those actual, quantifiable crimes?

12. I like the Kennedys. They use government service to make ours a better country for ALL.
Ask yourself: "How do members of the Bush dynasty use government service?" Well, for Smirko...

Know your BFEE: Like a NAZI

The truth be known, George Walker Bush is most un-American.

Bush, the public front for the Bush Family Evil Empire, supports the goals of the NAZIs in word and deed.

As if a family history of wanting to exterminate Jews & others somehow is irrelevant and their family values magically changed after WW2.

I AM, however, impressed by the logical gymnastics employed by some to curse the X family for Z, and forgive the Y family for the same Z. I'm running afoul of the League of the Simpleminded and Easily Outraged, though, so I'll shut up.

32. It's a case of the end justifying the means
According to a few of the posters here, Joe Kennedy's kids turned out okay and they agree with his kids' political views, so his doing business with the Nazis is not as bad as Prescott Bush doing business with the Nazis.

15. Cultkeepers
These guys are doing all they can to make certain they're among the "Chosen."

Know your BFEE: Cultkeepers

This, eh, religiousity helps explain why they don't do anything to ease poverty, disease, hunger, homelessness, and so forth at home or abroad. They feel they're entitled to survive the Apocalypse. This attitude explains their governing policies, which only benefit the few at the expense of the many. It explains their lack of interest in tracking down the killers of President Kennedy, Dr. King and Senator Kennedy. It explains why they've helped NAZIs escape justice after World War II. It explains why they do business with authoritarian regimes and support dictators around the world. It explains why they don't give a damn about ecological catastrophe like climate change and pollution. It explains why they feel we can win a nuclear war.

As handmaids of the elite, they would survive. The rest of us, We the People? What about us? They don't care.

Shakespeare really was on to something.

20. Thank you, varelse. Others did the real work...
... like Christopher Simpson, author of The Splendid Blond Beast

Allen Dulles, chief of the State Department's Near East desk: "(T)he Secretary of State wants to avoid giving the impression that while the United States is willing to intervene actively to protect its commercial interests, it is not willing to move on behalf of the Christian minorities." Dulles went on to complain about the agitation in the U.S. on behalf of Armenians, Greeks, and Palestinian Jews. "I've been kept busy trying to ward off congressional resolutions of sympathy for these groups.''

Know your BFEE: Money Trumps Peace. Always.

And Dulles was supposedly a liberal. A few of his friends certainly were. And today real Liberals are the worse off for it.

Edited on Fri Oct-23-09 10:05 PM by juno jones
as benign as it advertised. I also had always had a fascination with these kind of mysteries. During the nineties I had some friends who were really into 'CT'. Of course, in my view at the time, it was entertaining nonsense exacerbated by their constant low-level paranoia. I always chalked it up to their pot dealing.

I'm not sure where the long fall down the rabbit hole began. Perhaps it was a trip to CA in 97 where I wound up reading this guy's collection of Feral House books. On that trip, I also experienced the weird miltarization of the police by nearly getting trampled in some seemingly senseless crowd control exercise on in SF on New Year's Eve that concentrated on herding all the riff raff trying to cross union square into a small barricaded area and holding them there with fully armored swat teams. I know my reality shift really kicked in somewhere between the stolen election and 9-11. By that time I was on the internets and seriously looking at the subjects the friends I once thought were nuts had been raising. A lot of it was dreck but I got steered toward good writers like Dave Emory and Mae Brussell whose research is impeccable. And of course RIP, Danny Casolero and Jim Keith...

I would like to thank DU'ers like Octafish and others who research this stuff as well and lay it out, links, sauce and all for our education. You always give me new things to mull over, even if my newfound knowledge comes with a dose of unease.
