The homeopathy of the right wing.
In homeopathy (please don't make this a thread on it, this is just a metaphor!)
For a cure, one is suppose to take a substance that causes the same symptoms of the illness you have.
This is what we have form the right wing.

Lowering taxes causes huge deficit, let's lower more taxes to get a surplus!

GWB screws up the Iraq war from the beginning, give him more money carte blanc!

Guns lead to a massacre in Virginia, the answer is MORE GUNS!!

1. Sorry
guns didn't lead to a massacre in Virginia. It appears that mental illness and improper responses to the clues of that condition plus inadequate police reactions to the first incident did. Guns don't shoot themselves.

You could use a hammer to hit some one, a knife or screwdriver to stab, a baseball bat to hit etc. These are tools and so is a gun.

Not going to co-operate with anyone's effort to take away my right to own a gun.

2. I have mixed feelings
about gun control. However, I am so damned sick and tired of that stupid saying. Facts are facts. If this guy had a knife or hammer, there wouldn't be 33 dead people on the campus of VT. Fact.

Interesting how many low post count people are all over the place impersonating Charlton Heston the past couple of days.

For the record, I think there needs to be reasonable gun control laws. Semi-Automatic pistols and assault rifles have one purpose, and that is to kill people. Whether a community wants free and easy access to them is up to that community, but as has been proven in NYC, local gun control laws don't matter when people can buy guns elsewhere and import them.

I don't have an answer to the problem, but arming the entire populace as some are suggesting would get really ugly really fast. There's a reason people stopped carrying weapons everywhere they went and it wasn't that society got safer.

3. trouble is,
in homeopathy, to cure an illness, you give the patient LESS of the thing that caused the illness, not more.

If they actually followed classical homeopathy, they would find that lowering taxes causes a huge deficit, so to get out of the deficit sickness, we do the tax lowering a lot lot less, until it is diluted to not lowering taxes at all.

I'd say that, in reality, the right wing is capable of any kind of reasonable thinking--only way to explain their stances on things.
