that went on from 2001 til last year, and say this is the main reason we are in deep sh*t in this country and in our state.

Because, to give back power in this state to the Republicans would be like rewarding the bank robber with the pin number to your savings account! The GOP has ran this country into the ground and just 8+ months later, we're barely coming out of the worst of it, and still deep in the hole.

I know these candidates are looking doubtful, but they can pull this out with an attack upon the people that brought this havoc to our nation. Let them be reminded WHO it was who spent this nation into massive war debt all the while jobs continued to drift overseas, and corporate crime ran with impunity!

I certainly hope they see they're probably going to lose unless they make people realize what harm they place themselves in by putting a GOP in power, and that they're stating that argument strongly from here on out.

1. People must be reminded that it was 8 years of Republican "leadership" that created this mess.
6 of those years the Republicans also controlled both houses of Congress.

No oversight, no regulations, lie to start wars, no bid contracts to GOP friends and cronies, outing of CIA agents, spying on Americans and lying to us about it, putting unqualified people in important jobs...the list just goes on and on. How irresponsible and criminal can the GOP be?

This mess wasn't created overnight, and it can't be fixed in one year. Especially when the GOP continues to obstruct and lie to the American people about the facts.

The Democrats must hang this crap around the necks of every Republican, and remind America exactly who is responsible for this mess, and who is working to clean it up (again).

3. "putting unqualified people in important jobs" - BANG! seriously, the Dem candidates need to focus
their money on sending out "Don't Forget The Past 8 Years!" flyers or something...

point out all the mess these friggin morons have tossed upon the struggling country.

And then to read that Wall Street was allowed to scam everyone and the system for hundreds of billions to all these crooked investment firms just sends the blood boiling! AndyA did you see that report that 1.7 million was bet on Bears Stearns stock tanking within 10 days, and they were allowed to bet it through a series of "options" on Wall St??? Why would anyone allow that unless they were on the take too?

2. State Races Will Be VERY Big In 2010...
Remember, it's census year (despite Michelle Bachmann's protests...LOL)...and with the victors go the spoils. For those who want to break the grip of the rushpublicans in the South, getting Democrats elected to fill the legislatures means they'll have the pencils to remake districts. Nothing would please me more than to see a bunch of those wingnuts have to face off against each other as their districts are consolidated.

Off-year elections are the most local type around...few national winds really blow around them. We're seeing the races in New Jersey and Virginia based predominately on local issues and personalities. Deeds has run a poor campaign; failing to put McDonnell on the defensive. Hopes are that Democrats in NOVA will come out, but that's no certainty. New Jersey is another story...we're seeing yet another GOOP tease going on...the rushpublicans are about to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Nailing Christie to the boooosh DOJ and its abuses are the icing on his corrupt cake that Corzine is dressing up real nicely.

A lot of next years elections will also revolve on local economies...governors in states that are suffering will be hit hard. But the saving grace is the rushpublicans have nothing to offer in exchange. Tax cuts don't create jobs and a majority of voters know that.

4. Good point, I admit, they have to point out not only B*sh's mess but how Christie is attached.
and Michelle Bachman... oh man... what a weirdo... let's leave it there. I laughed when you put, despite her protests!
