11. I've worked in the legislative and executive branches.

Never worked in the judicial branch. Don't have the judicial temperament, and the thought of being the target of all that ass kissing repulses me. I'm glad there are some good judges, but I couldn't sit there all day and listen to motion after motion about how many documents can dance on the head of a subpoena.

I suppose the Supreme Court would hold some attraction, but the appeals courts would be a sentence in purgatory. You don't decide anything with finality, and you don't have the fun of actually trying cases. If there's any of it that's fun, it's trying cases. I miss trying cases, but not enough to try them again. It's performance art.

I wouldn't work in government again, but if I did, it would be executive branch. Even if the legislative work is as an elected official, I still wouldn't go for. Being an elected official is hard work, and it means always being responsive to citizens wherever you run into them. I don't have the personality for that. I'm more "what are you looking at?"

I would like to see of I could really work there and do the job for the people who voted me in . I would like to see if it is just too hard to turn down corporate money to sway my votes.
