Bush's Failures/Crimes --- OR --- Democrats talking Gun Control

People, we have momentum on our side. We have control of Congress for the first time in over a decade. Bush and the Repugs have this country screwed up beyond belief. And this horrible tragedy occurs involving a gun. Remember what it was like having them ground this ship of state? Do you really want to go back to being on the outside? Then go right ahead and talk all you want about gun control. We will surrender congress and the presidency in '08 if you persist. Life is about compromise. I wrap myself wholeheartedly in the Democratic Party ideals of economic fairness and environmental concerns and all the other related issues. I say don't give up our position of power over an issue such as this. It is not worth it. There is no way in the world you can prevent some anti-social psychopath from going on the blink. So the guy gets a car and steamrolls fifty people at a tailgate party instead. Or he plants pipe bombs in a cafeteria trash can, killing and maiming hundreds. Taking up this issue at this juncture would be political suicide. I guarantee you we will lose PA, MI, WI, and other hunting states that are now blue. I guarantee you! So you make a choice. Letting Bush and Co. continue to humiliate and embarrass themselves and possibly doom their chances(Republicans) for a generation, or put the glaring media spotlight of taking up gun control and letting the war criminal off the hook. I say let it rest, PLEASE!

wouldn't it be great if the second amendment were strictly adhered to? Like we are free to own a gun to protect the country, just like it says in the constitution, just like our founding fathers intended. But no, the conservative patriots who need big guns for lack of big cocks have to call it ambiguous and twist the meaning so they can strut around like manly men. The NRA enables what happened yesterday. But I agree, patience.
