Steele 'not really' concerned about declining GOP support
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele on Tuesday brushed off a new poll that indicates just 20 percent of the American public are willing to call themselves Republicans.

Questioned if whether he's concerned about the new Washington Post/ABC News poll, Steele responded: "Not really."

"What I'm concerned about is how they vote," he said on CNN's "The Situation Room." Steele insisted that "at end of the day you can call yourself whatever you want" - as long voters ultimately choose candidates who favor small government, business-friendly policies.

1. I'm glad Steele is the RNC chairman
But I can't figure out why he still has the job. :)

Keep up the bad work pal.

5. That's why he's not concerned
He's still got a nice job, no heavy lifting, lots of travel, and he gets to go on teevee every now and then and say whatever enters his silly little head. I hope he's Chairman for Life of the RNC.

9. I'm betting they can't get rid of him.
His public personna is certainly that of buffoon, but I suspect he's told the RNC "if you want to get rid of me it will cost you a lot of money. If you fire me, we'll see you in Court." Can you imagine the circus a public lawsuit would create for the White Guy Party?

2. Not that simple...
As the proportion of Dixiecrat DINOs who identify as Democrats decreases due to death or a switch in party ID, so to do these numbers better mirror better support.
