Limbaugh's whining about being rejected for NFL justifies his being rejected.
It seems quite obvious that Limbaugh's drug-crazed reaction to being quickly rejected for consideration for an NFL team only justifies why he was rejected. I think all the NFL owners can clearly see that Limbaugh would have been a disaster. His selfish lashing out at so many perceived enemies in regard to his being dropped from a bidder's group establishes without a doubt that he would have been unpredictable and uncontainable should he become an owner.

Rush's main defense against being tagged as a racist is declaring ONE of dozens of his racist comments is false. The quote in question concerns slavery and how Rush thought that the institution had some merits and that it made the streets safer at night. The drug crazed Limbaugh unveiled his defense on his show a few days ago. He said that he and his staff had spent hours going through ALL of his broadcasts and print products and found that Rush had never uttered the quote about slavery. The glaringly idiotic aspect to this defense is that he and his staff would even have to look. Obvioulsy, they were not sure whether he had ever said such a horrible thing or not, but they still had to look. For Limbaugh and his staff, it sounded like something Rush might have said so they had better take a looksee before getting stoned and going on air with a denial. Dumbasses!

1. If the mostly RW owners of the NFL can't stand him .......
I really wonder about his claim to 15 million listeners/day.
I have never looked to see if that is accurate that is etc. Always wonder if that is about as accurate as the Chanmber of Commerce's '3 million business members?'

4. I really wish someone could definitely explain to me how they
come up with ratings for local am radio.

How on earth would anyone be able to tell if I'm listening or not.

3. The one quote that he doesn't even discuss which was just as damaging
Edited on Tue Oct-20-09 01:27 PM by Gman
was the one about the NFL looking like a fight between the bloods and crips without weapons.

Quotes aside, clearly the consensus of NFL owners was that no one wanted to have to deal with this asshole. Rush is a problem that is much more easily fixed by not even letting him in rather than having to react to his mouth later.

11. He or one of his supporters tried to spin that one as well.....
..by arguing that both gangs are multi-racial so it couldn't have been a "race" thing on Rush's part. The more they stretch logic to defend his crap the worse they come off.

That said, I do find it funny that Rush and his brain-dead audience are the only ones still talking about this situation. I didn't hear one reference to the matter on any of the pre-game or post-game shows and from what I could tell the stadiums of the good teams still seemed sold out despite the FReepers and dittoheads screaming how they would boycott.

5. Question
I have not been following the story too closely, but I was under the impression that it was Limbaugh's own financial partners who dumped him because they saw him as an anchor or albatross with respect to their bid. Is that the case? or was there an official statement from the NFL that Limbaugh was rejected for participation? Thank you in advance for the answer.

8. You're right. Checketts dumped him like a hot rock.
Once the publicity started coming out, of course. Obviously he didn't see a problem bringing the OxyMoron in in the first place. :eyes:

6. one almost has to wonder ...
.... if he had the whole deal 'leaked' in hopes of an 'uproar' so then he could retreat into the "Oh woe is me, all the mean liberals and black people hate me, I'm just a guy trying to make ends meet" crap that his knuckle-dragging listeners so identify with.

7. This all reminds me of a scene in "The Godfather".
Michael Corleone asks another mobster if he was the one who ordered a hit on one of his associates. The reply from the other mobster was, "This is the profession that we have chosen". In other words, the risk of being bumped off came with the decision of his conduct. No one put a microphone in front of Limbaugh and made him say the things that he has said. He has made a lot of money with that mouth, but it has put him in the position that he is in.

9. Funny how the rants that made him rich are
keeping him from his dreams of being a tv sportscaster or sports team owner. Karma is a bitch.
