US 19 year-old girl, soldier serving at Aviano base, Italy, found dead. probable suicide.
can't get to find the news in english.

she served as radio speaker at the Nato base of Aviano, Italy. she had disappeared on monday and her boyfriend had alerted her missing. her pc and personal things had been found on the bridge over the river Noncello, near Pordenone.
her body was found later hidden behind a bush on the river bank.

investigators exclude a crime and think that the girl may have jumped from the railroad bridge into the waters.
no name given.

very sad. hope to find some english source on it.
this is the italian one, from the major italian paper:

3. 19-year-old WOMAN
and/or SOLDIER. Would the press describe a 19-year-old male soldier as a "boy?" Disrespectful.

5. it's just a problem of translation. in italy 19 years old is a "girl", "ragazza".
there's much respect for what happened. i would not go too much into my vocabulary.
yes, a woman died. a human being, if you prefer.

7. At my age, I call 19 year olds girls and boys
Because they're still so young and vulnerable. To me, a 19-year-old male is a boy, still thinks like a boy, and still needs parental supervision.

But that's just me, forever a mom.
