Post your dream GOP ticket...
Coburn/Buchanan

So much stupid-mining

So toxic to Jews that Obama will do even better among ex-Trot neocons (the only Jews who vote Republican in a normal election.) than he will among African-Americans.

Best of all, it would humiliate the religious right to irrelevance and cause the Libertarians to displace the GOP as the main right-wing party.

Keyes/Buchanan would also be hilarious, but loses out by the fact that the other ticket is just as sad and actually has someone whose won a statewide Federal office.

Imagine a pro-life ticket with two Catholics getting like 20% of the Catholic vote, 90% of the fundie vote, and nothing else whatsoever.

That'd really neuter the corporate wing of the Democratic Party, and force it to move to the left. As long they're running psychotic loons, our triangulating corporate tools are sitting snug as bugs in a rug.

Doesn't matter. Palin would go down harder than Mondale in '84. I bet the only State she'd win is Utah. Cue right-wing mouth breathers fantasizing about Sarah Palin "going down."

The truth is that there isn't a viable Republican candidate capable of knocking off Obama in 2012. Not one that has arisen yet, anyway. Palin, joke. Jindal, joke. Huckabee, only popular with religious nuts. Pawlenty, who? Crist, frightening orange tan. Romney, scumbag. Not to mention that most of them are currently OUT of politics, which won't help. I just don't see a formidable Republican anywhere. Isn't this the same Party that was using the phrase, "President Fred Thompson" a few short years ago? Clearly, this is a Party that is out of ideas.

I said during the 2008 primaries that it didn't matter who won either Party's nomination, because the Republicans didn't have anyone capable of beating either Democrat. And look how right I turned out to be. I'm saying it again. The Republicans don't have anyone capable of beating Obama in 2012. They've got the same list of sycophantic lapdogs all parroting the Bush Agenda, incapable of fresh thoughts or ideas, and no hope for anything different on the horizon. Until they find "THEIR Obama," they will continue to lose elections.

20. Palin - Pence.
Palin because she is so stunningly idiotic.

And Pence because he is so hypernegative.

You'd have a vacuously stupid top of the ticket and for veep you'd have an authoritarian tyrant.

I think President Obama could make very quick work of those two.

34. Cantor may be "too sane" but has never been vetted.
He went to college.

Worked for mommy and daddy.

Worked for his congressman (who mommy and daddy most likely funded)

Went to law school.

Ran for said seat of his former mentor, most likely including donor rolls and endorsements and never having to face a serious/well-financed challenger.
