This is Larry Pratt, the Executive Director of Gun Owners of America:

While being interviewed earlier today on the Ed Schultz show,
Larry could not contain himself, and broke out in laughter while
speaking of the fact the the Virginia Tech shooter had to break a
gun law in order to enter the Virginia Tech campus Monday.

...

"Gun Owners of America has called on Congress to repeal its deadly law requiring gun free school zones," said Pratt. "Likewise, the call has been made to state legislatures to enact legislation enabling people with concealed carry permits to be able to have their weapons with them in schools."

1. it is pretty despicable
when anyone tries to cheapen tragedy to serve a personal agenda

that goes for gun nuts AND gun-control nuts

11. I'd never cheapen a tragedy by pushing gun control.
But I will certainly RESPOND to it by pushing gun control.

Yeah, just like those people who'd respond to tragic traffic accidents by pushing for safer cars, better roads, and stronger anti-DUI efforts.

2. BOSSHOG CALLS ON CONGRESS
to enforce the fucking second amendment which clearly states citizens can be armed for the purpose of defending the country. Students having concealed weapons in the classroom are not defending the country.

6. aren't they part of the "unorganized militia"?
that being all able-bodied males between 18 & 45? therefore, they're part of the "well-regulated militia? assuming "unorganized" = "well-regulated".

i've been told that on DU recently.

3. If Congress were to pass this legislation,
can we hold Mr. Pratt accountable for the next innocent student killed by a person with a concealed weapon permit?

4. How many innocent students have been killed by people with CWPs?
I haven't heard of any, ever.

7. Yes, it should be every young....
emotionally immature, binge drinking college student's right to carry a concealed weapon. :silly: Instead of one localized, terrible mass murder we'll have hundreds of single or double murders all over the country. But not that many people will know about them that way so the NRA won't come off looking like a bunch of rabid gun-nuts. Sounds like a plan to me. :sarcasm:

9. Maybe we need a Smallpox Carriers of America group ...
to lobby for the right to acquire smallpox and carry it wherever one wants. Come on, we all know it still exists in labs -- support our rights to spread it as we wish.

12. I don't know why anyone would want guns everywhere on campus. The number of
deaths will just increase. How do they work their minds around that?
