1. I maintain the economy has been in trouble for the last 40
years. The problems were masked by real estate booms in the South, South-West and West and the returns on the stock market. The problems here in the Rust Belt were attributed to our dependence on the old economy; manufacturing. Here in Upstate New York, not much has changed over the last few years. We've been in a recession my entire adult life. Now the entire country is seeing that the gains on Wall Street bear little relation to life on Main Street.

3. Coincidentally, the last liberal administration went out of power
exactly 40 years ago. Since then, wages have been depressed in terms of buying power, unions have been suppressed to the point they're only a minor factor now, and everything the previous generations fought for has been slowly chipped away in favor of making the rich richer and the corporate "person" the most powerful.

You feel like you've been in a recession for the past 40 years because you have been in a recession for the past 40 years. The only way not to feel that way was to have taken full advantage of the party fueled by easy credit, leaving you with absolutely nothing now.

It's about time the credit partygoers wake the hell up. Unfortunately for us, they'll be encouraged to blame themselves and they'll obediently do so.

10. Re #1 Wall St/Main St
1. Main Street looks way too good ... it's needs potholes, debris, boulders, etc

2. Notice that Wall St has no guard rails ... nothing to keep the Wall St operators from driving off the edge again.
