The Democrats Have the Votes, That Has Never Been the Issue
They can get health care reform with 60 or with 51 doesn't matter. But they need to water the bill down to an acceptable level for all interested corporate parties. Railing against corporations is so damn cliche because it's so damn true. The Dems just want to be the 'sane' centrists that don't rock the boat too much and they have the perfect crazy-acting foils in the Pubs.

Think about what a smart campaign Obama ran, the best messaged and organized campaign maybe ever once he got going. He has an army of volunteers that he could have called up to gear up for this fight and inspired the shit out of us for the fight of this century. But Obama won't do that, he's too damn smart to mess with the powers that be, that got him where he is. Whether it's because he thinks the Dems are chickshits who won't grow a spine or not doesn't matter, he's going along for the ride and it's damn sad.

3. I believe they're still doing his bidding---just not OUR bidding.
Obama's not on our side--here is our wake up call.

4. I was an Obama volunteer -- a team leader.
My wife and I have declined to participate in OFA phone banks and other activities in the HCR arena because we don't know what the Obama plan is that we would be putting our efforts toward. Does it include a strong public option? If we were sure that it did then we would be working on its behalf. But as long as Obama remains ambivalent on the public option he won't get any efforts or money from us.
