ISO Abbie Hoffman
I'm wondering if anybody can help me pin down the location of the place in New Hope where Abbie was living when he died. Scanning around in Google Maps the area looks pretty built-up. I'm a born and bred Pennsylvanian who just moved back after too many years away, and I'm not just a leftist but also a geek for local history. I do NOT want to use the term pilgrimmage, but I'd appreciate knowing the site. Thanks for any info.

1. If you could track down the name
of the River Keeper organization that Abbie was involved with, maybe someone involved with it woul dknow about his location.

And you can get obits online these days - surely someone who survived him would know where he lived right before it was his time to take his activism one level higher.

2. Excellent!
Thanks for the idea.

All through high school and college I'd considered myself a hippie who was born too late. I was sad that Abbie died so young and under such circumstances, even moreso that it was just a few counties away. Always wished I could've visited....

3. Did anyone PM you?
Someone PM'ed me this:

Don't forget to ask about locating Joanna Lawrence, his companion at the time, to see if she can help you if nobody else can re. Riverkeepers.

5. You won't find
him where he died. Look elsewhere.

6. newhopehs@verizon.net
Perhaps try the above email for the New Hope Historical Society.

Also, on Bridge Street I believe, there is (or was) a music shop that has been there for years. I'd bet a few bucks that someone there would certainly know.
