Keith Olberman Had a Good Thought Last Night
He was talking about how Bush was alway saying, if we pull out of Iraq, 'They' will come over here
and follow us home?

Keith said, "Well why are they not doing that now?"

1. We have them surrounded!
NOT!

I've never understood the logic of Bush's fear tactic. In 2004 it was "Vote for me! I'll keep you safe!" with the next sentence "we have to fight over there so we're safe here" and the next "there WILL be another attack."

2. He actually made three
very good points in the same paragraph, but I cant remember what they were. Can anyone else help out?
On another subject, KO seemed very ill at ease last nite. He stumbled more than any show Ive ever seen him do. Was it the VT thing or something completely different?

3. Probably VT
When news is breaking like that, the information is piped into the on-air talent by producers via an earpiece. Back in the old days, you frequently saw anchors cupping hands around their ears in order to hear better. Whatever thoughts or sentences are being formed are then constantly interrupted by new info, right in the anchor's ear. Everyone was struggling to make sure they got the tone of everything right too, which probably caused a few stops and starts.

4. Maybe the argument is..

If we put them on the defense they can't play offense?

Just playing the devil's advocate here.

5. The average "train of thought" in America today seems to be a caboose ... careening off the tracks.
It's appalling that Cheney/Bush can get away with the specious fiction that, somehow, the occupation of Iraq - which had absolutely NOTHING to do with al Qaeda or terrorism in the US - 'protects' people here. It's part of the BIG LIE about Saddam 'threatening' the US and even the deposal and execution of Saddam doens't stop this criminal cabal from repeatedly spouting the same BIG LIE.

That ANYONE swallows their garbage is symptomatic of the dumbing down of this country.
