Lee Iacocca just pisses me off to no end!!! AAAHHHGGGG!!!!!

Lee Iacocca was a Bush supporter...then he was a Kerry supporter...
now he's calling for leadership. Is he sure that he's the person we
should be listening too? If Kerry was that leader he was looking for
then...uh...what's changed?

--Lee Iacocca (former CEO of GM) has gone on a little rant. His initial comments from his recent book called "Where Have All The Leaders Gone" are stated here: http://www.globalaffairs.org/forum/showthread.php?t=51992 ...and this is my comment back.--

Wow, where the hell as Lee Iacocca been for the past six years? Under a rock? We've been saying everything he's stated in the book since before the Iraq war. Where's the outrage? Well, at all of those un-televised war protests, all of those people standing in "free speech" zones far away from the president, all of those people who have been writing blogs and articles since before the election telling everyone that George W. Bush has been a failure all his life, in business and government. There I was in 2000 at Michael Moore's Rolling Thunder tour presenting George W. Bush's Resume on stage as a comedy routine...the problem was...everything I said was true. And where was Lee Iacocca? Marching to the polls without doing any research into the man he was about to help elect. Good job!

Lee Iacocca has jumped on the back of a safe bandwagon. The perfect place for a liar like him to be so that he's poised to jump off at any time. He speaks about hybrids and oil. He was one of the people that kept the hybrid out of production and kept the US dependant on oil. Some of his closest friends and HIS lobbyists were right there with Dick Cheney in February of 2001 while they were setting energy policy in favor of the oil and energy companies and to the detriment of the environment and the consumer. I'm sure he had no problem golfing with them after that!

Lee Iacocca is a charlatan who states the obvious and doesn't have an original thought in his ailing elitist little head. He stated the nine "C"s of leadership. The nine qualities a leader needs to have to be effective. What it left me asking is; what a leader do you suggest Lee? You see, another trait of a leader that you didn't mention was a leader offers up "solutions"...but that doesn't start with "C" so I guess that any sort of solution was "C"onveniently left out of your book.

Hey Lee Iacocca...go crawl back into your mansion you opportunistic book selling weasel. Leave the outrage to people who sincerely feel it and don't profit off of it.

3. You're wrong for being mad at Lee. Yes he voted for Shrub, but
as much as I didn't like him (just because he was a Pub), I never could have imagined how much of a renegade he really was going to be. I also rememberhaving a few times where the WH & the Congress was controlled by the same party, but NEVER was there such colusion and lack of oversight as occurred in the last 6 years!

If you listen to Lee now, I believe he's saying much the same thing as I am. Many other top business men and other Pubs will pay attention to what Lee is saying now than they ever would listen to you or I.

8. Do you really think that his CEO cronies are going to change because of him?
I doubt it. If they haven't made up their minds by now, they never will. There are still people giving millions to Mitt Romney to stay the course in Iraq, millions to John McCain to escalate Iraq, and believe you me, the Bush agenda will hang around like limbuger cheese for years to come.

Lee Iacocca is P-R-O-F-I-T-I-N-G off of this situtaion. He is a S-C-U-M-B-A-G. If he were sincere then he would be active, gather crowds, and get his message out. But he's not. He's talking, someone else is writing, and then he goes golfing on the money. Plain and simple.

13. I think there are quite a few people like Lee who have changed their
mind about Shrub! Yes, they are still Pubs and always will be. I don't hate that. They have a philosophy they believe in and it's Capitalism, and that's OK. What's not OK is Shrub's total disregaurd of the Constitution, and I believe many Pubs feel the same way about that. That's why his #'s are as low as they are.

Lee is 83 years old (I think) so he's just not going to do the campaign trail anymore. But yes I do believethere area lot of Pubs who respect his opinion and he can make a difference.

5. Same old story - corporate media. In 2000 they gave Iaccoca HEAVY coverage for supporting Bush
but when he became disgusted with Bush and gave his support to Kerry, the press corps suddenly turned him into a LOW PROFILE figure and gave bare minimum coverage.

The same thing happened with the Firefighters' endorsement and the speech to their convention. Post 9-11 it should have been the most talked about endorsement - instead it received minimal reporting and NO coverage of the speech where he attacked the swifts and Bush and challenged Bush to stop hiding behind te swifts and show up to debate their service at the time. No coverage. Not even left media covered the speech or repeated and backed up Kerry's challenge to Bush.

You can bet that it was deliberate move by the corporate media.

7. That's exactly WHY, imo..
it's the media in this country that activists for Democracy, who oppose fascism, are going to have to figure out a way to go after, like we've gone after the bushits.

If we didn't have the internet(thank you Al Gore) ..can you imagine what all kinds of worse situations we'd be in? The corporatemediawhores would be covering up and outright LYING, as ususal, and the 2006 Dem win wouldn't have happened.

And, thankfully, there are many who are making documentaries about what's been going down in our country.. so they can try to rewrite history, but the truth is still documented.

To the OP..
Lee Ioccoca, being a corporatehead, was natually drawn to republicanism but give the man credit for seeing through the bushit and making a stand(even if the corportewhores are ignoring him) when so many CH are slavishing going along with the bushits and selling our country down the river..Yeah, you know who are are.

11. He began his career at Ford and eventually became President
under Henry Ford II. He joined Chrysler after being fired by Ford. Iacocca was never employed by GM.
