3. Nonsense
In fact the view you purport where criticism is restricted is precisely in league with the right.

In addition to that you might be surprised at how closely allied are the economic principles that you promote with those on the reactionary right.

Your conflation is so far removed from reality.

...so bullshit on that.

I just call you out when you do it. That doesn't restrict you at all.

Not the man but his policies

If he was looking out for the people instead of the rich the response would be different. If he had taken the money that he threw at the bankers and put millions to work as was done during the Depression he would have the accolades of all leftists. As it is, it's more of the same old shit.

5. No - O. NOW owns this big stinking shitpile. Certainly he
DID NOT CREATE this mess, but his policies (including his support for TARP last fall) and his appointees (Gietner, Summers, Rham, etc) all give him FULL and TOTAL ownership.

He COULD have chosen a different course - but he DIDN't.

The banksters ARE getting richer (just look at today's headlines on Wall street bonuses :

14 October 2009
Wall Street Set to Pay a Record $140 Billion In Bonuses Topping 2007

http://jessescrossroadscafe.blogspot.com/2009/10/wall-street-set-to-pay-record-140.html

And all the while MAIN STREET is being decimated and WIPED OUT.

No O. made HIS choice and he OWNS it now.

THe cartoon is absolute TRUTH on this matter. We are being SHIT on, and required to clean uo after the bastards.

Edited on Wed Oct-14-09 08:40 PM by aaronbav
Explain to me exactly how YOU are ANY different than the RETHUGS that marched LOCKSTEP to BUSHCO and NEVER EVER CONDEMNED ANY of his fascist policies (except that your are LOCKSTEPPED to O. rather than Bush)

I HESITANTLY voted for Obama - because of the very issue of his support of the TARP bailout last fall, and he has done absolutely NOTHING to convince me that he is ANY different than BUSHCO (or DLC, Nafta, WTO, Freetrader Clinton) when it comes to HIS economic policies.

Just Look at his picks for his economic team. They are the VERY SAME BASTARDS that helped get us INTO this SHITPILE and, believe me, I BLAME CLINTON just as much as BUSCO. Clinton KICKED the door wide OPEN for the Nafta, GATT, WTO free trade decimation of MAIN STREET!

Clinton and his DLC thugs had JUST as big a hand in this as did the Rethugs and BUSHCO. If the candidate had been Hillary, there is NO way in hell I would have voted for HER in the Election - O ONLY got my vote, because I grudgingly gave him a slight benefit of the doubt that he MIGHT rise to the occasion and stand up and be the NEXT FDR or JFK - Sadly this is NOT what has happened.

He HAS sacrificed workers and Main street for the gangster banksters and Wall Street. If he continues on his bullshit course, he WILL go down as a one term president and deservedly so.

The cartoon is DEAD ON accurate.

He can only stand up for Wall Street or Main Street. Not both

There is NO bullshit Bi-Partisan "middle" ground on this issue. Wall Street and the Banksters are corrupt beyond reason and logic and WILL destroy this country. O and his "team" of Economic hitmen have given the Wall Street thugs Carte Blanche.

20. First off - I'm NOT a freakin "Freeper". Second - I consider
it a CIVIC DUTY to not just BLINDLY march in LOCKSTEP, just because O. is a Dem. and he says this is "how it should be". He appears to be more aligned with the Bluedogs than anything, so between that and his asinine "bipartisanship" well - I simply WILL not STFU! His POLICIES are wrong, and he is allowing the banksters to continue their plunder.

35. My point is that the mess caused by eight years of bush and chainy should
be attributed to bush and chainy - not Barack Obama.

The cartoon implies otherwise. It is wrong and you are deceived.

38. You may have a point. But trying to attribute what happened on Wall Street
over the last eight years to Obama is simply wrong headed and deceptive. It should be bush and chainy handing the shovel off to Obama.

Teachers benefit from job-saving stimulus spending

By MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – Teachers appear to have benefited most from the effort to save jobs with the $787 billion recovery package, which sent billions of dollars to states that were on the verge of ordering heavy layoffs in education.

The national data on the impact of President Barack Obama's stimulus plan won't be available until later this month. But based on preliminary information obtained by The Associated Press from a handful of states, the stimulus spared tens of thousands of teachers from losing their jobs.

Construction companies also are expected to report strong job numbers thanks to billions of dollars in highway money.

State officials around the U.S. worked to meet a Saturday reporting deadline as part of the most ambitious effort to calculate in real time the effect of the government spending program. From 11 jobs repaving a road in Caldwell, Texas, to one job at Utah food banks, to two forensic scientist positions in North Dakota, states were required to say exactly what became of billions in government aid.

In California, the stimulus was credited with saving or creating 62,000 jobs in public schools and state universities. Utah reported saving about 2,600 teaching jobs. In both states, education jobs represented about two-thirds of the total stimulus job number. Missouri reported more than 8,500 school jobs, Minnesota more than 5,900. In Michigan, where officials said 19,500 jobs have been saved or created, three out of four were in education.

"They're going to be the biggest driver of jobs from the state side," said Chris Whatley, who tracks stimulus programs for the Council of State Governments.

Ten Thousand Apply For Ninety Job Openings In Louisville

U.S. Job Openings Fall to Lowest Level in at Least Nine Years

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke last week said economic growth next year probably won’t be strong enough to “substantially” bring down unemployment. The jobless rate will “still probably be above 9 percent by the end of 2010,” Bernanke said.

25. An extremely poor start considering he reversed
the fortunes of everyone on wall street to the tune of hundreds of thousand to billions in that same amount of time. The same folks that got us into this mess where bailed out first and swiftly. Of course it helps to have multiple representatives in the white house taking care of your every problem.

Something regular folks don't have.
