Accusing Fox News of being a tool of the Republican Party is missing the point
Fox News does have an agenda but it's not political. The mission of Fox News is to promote and advance policies that help the rich and corporations. To the extent the Republican Party helps they are political.

I don't know why more people and the White House have not figured this out.

1. But that IS a political motivation.
Politics is simply a process by which groups of people make decisions. If Faux wants "to promote and advance policies that help the rich and corporations," it is doing so by trying to influence the decision-making process. And that's politics.

3. That's true..
But some people think Fox News' only concern is helping the Republican Party attain power. That's not entirely accurate. If the Democratic Party was shills for the rich, they would be trying to help the Democrats.

4. Class is the ultimate taboo in American politics. It must never be discussed.
We can more easily talk about incest and cannibalism than class.

5. Why do you assume they don't know?
I think anyone who pays attention knows that the super-rich people in power use wedge issues to keep the poorer people divided and confused.

7. I assume they don't know because no one has ever mentioned it
People just say Fox News is GOP TV or a propoganda channel for the Republican Party. This creates the impression that Fox News wants the Republican Party to be in power because of issues not related to economics i.e. abortion and gun control.

11. It's against the rules for them to mention it. It scares rich people and saying anything
that scares rich people is forbidden.

6. There are some who would say that both parties to a certain extent,
exist to promote and advance policies that favor the rich and corporations. This may be why they did not come out and say it. Kind of like outing oneself.

9. Fox's mission is to make money. Promoting the values of its core GOP audience keeps them tuned in.
Keeping their audience tuned in translates into advertising dollars for Murdoch's corporation.

Roger Ailes shrewdly cherry-picked a neglected demographic group of paranoid, xenophobes, homophobes, religious fanatics and racists and keeps them ginned up and tuned in to sell advertising. It was a brilliant strategy by Ailes, as vile as he is and will go down in history. He made Murdoch a lot of money.

That's their mission. Making money.
