4. Now the shooter was Korean-American (Wapo)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/17/AR2007041700456.html?hpid=topnews

The name of the assailant has not been publicly released, but Steger, in an interview on CNN, said he was an Asian male who was "a resident in one of our dormitories."

A range of sources, including federal and local officials with knowledge of the case, have told the Washington Post that the assailant was of Korean descent. His parents live in Fairfax County, one official there said.

(So what's with the Shenghai, student visa thing?)

5. What part of Korea...???
Were his ancestors from the part that is now North Korea? If so, watch the wingnuts label this a Kim Jong-Il inspired terror attack from part of the Axis of Evil. So, obviously, we must take powerful action...by going to war against Iran. :eyes:

6. Please correct your OP title.
The abbreviation for Virginia is VA. VT is Vermont. And thanks for the list. I only know one person at Virginia Tech. He's not listed, but it's good to have this resource as they update it.

11. One of my colleagues just wrote about Jamie Bishop, Pine Mountain GA
Yesterday was a horrific day at Virginia Tech. I was especially saddened last night to find out that Jamie Bishop, the son of my dear friends Mike and Jerri Bishop of Pine Mountain, Georgia was one of the slain victims. Jamie was a second year German professor at VA Tech and a truly great guy. I have known him since the time he was born. I cannot even imagine what his parents are going through. I hope that you will remember them as well as all of the other victims and their families.
