The FBI had intended to scare parents shitless in a different way yesterday.

Missed/thwarted after the VT incident broke out was one of the most bizarre reports I've seen on CNN in a while; CNN was heavily pushing a story about a new FBI report out claiming that the terrorists might be able to disguise themselves and get jobs driving your kids' school busses. CNN was pushing this bigtime in their early segment, with on-site reports from a bus yard, and showing film of a blown-up school bus "over there" and hammering home how a busload of children would be such a great target here. They went on to admit that the FBI says they have no actual indication terrorists are trying to do this, or have even thought about it, but boy oh boy, they sure could! Wouldn't it be terrible?

How ironic, what finally derailed the weekly "Scare America Shitless" attempt by BushCo.

that we can't prevent people from going ballistic but we sure could have a plan in action to react to such events. Yesterday was a nightmare that could have been dealt with so much more efficiently. How can we be so unprepared for these types of events?

The most amazing thing was how they admitted that there were no actual plans uncovered, but that it just seems like something they might want to do.

In fact, gosh...the might even have thought of it themselves if they idea wasn't being pushed at them by our own government.

The report was so shameless. Of course, since it's all bogus, the only thing they could show any film of was cute little kids hugging moms and dads before getting on the school bus, then the bus metaphorically driving off into the unknown. My sister-in-law is already a paranoid nut case because of this kind of shit. She convinced Al Qaida is going to come to her tiny New Hampshire hamlet and nuke up her kids -- after all, they told her so on TV!

5. When I watch my 14 year old daughter get on her school bus....

that is not something I worry about. I am more concerned with an auto accident....a fight on the bus....bullies....the bus drivers skills on the road...violence by students in the school, etc.. I don't know why they try to scare us with something so stupid anyway. I guess there are really people out there that fall for that bull.
