Obama Approval Soars to Plus 19 Points at Gallup
I posted yesterday a plus 16 point Gallup number (54% to 38%). Today, Barack Obama is a plus 19 points (56% to 37%). I know we don't hang on these daily polls of rolling averages, but I'd like to make a couple of points. First, I'm a Union President and I've won three terms (3 Years each). Every one of those three elections had more than an 80% to 20% split. Yet, between elections, I only hear from the 20%. Folks, generally, don't go around saying what a wonderful guy (or gal) anyone is. But, if you cross them, or they take a different position, human nature being what it is, those 20% can't wait to call you an asshole. Every election, I worry because of the vocal opposition and every election, it comes out with about the same numbers. I believe that's what's happening here. The folks who can't stand seeing a progressive, or a Democrat, or a black man as Presidnet of the United States, can't wait to criticize. But, in the end, Obama has a sizable majority in his corner. My advice to him would be to do what he thinks is correct, don't compromise so much, stick to your beliefs because your ideals are main stream America.

1. Love your perspective. Thanks!
I'm also a union member. Not a leader, but try to stick myself onto some committees and political stuff where I can. It's hard to do what you do. Props.

6. Today, Gallup has Obama at Plus 20, Gain of one
20 point lead. If it was an election, it would be a land slide. I know it doesn't mean much now, but maybe both parties in Congress should heed these numbers.

4. Gallup & Rasmussen have an ominous track-record of right-wing bias
and I view any poll of theirs, pro- or con-, with extreme skepticism.

5. I agree that Rasmussen sucks, but Gallup seems to be more accurate....
I've noticed on Zogby that they include the responses to the question of "how would you describe the job obama is doing" Excellent, good, fair and poor. They calculate "fair" as being a disapproval answer. I disagree with that. "Fair' should at least be a neutral number. I have found Gallup to be the most trustworthy and accurate.
