Steven Colbert Google Bombs...himself. Because he is the Greatest Living American.

Yep, Stephen Colbert is the Greatest Living American.  If you
aren't certain of that, you could just ask him.  And he would
surely tell you.  But that's not effective enough for him, so
he is enlisting his legion of fans to google bomb him as the
"greatest living american".

During the question and answer period before the April 11th
show, he was asked if he ever considered doing any Google
Bombing. After a brief explanation, Stephen replied, “I can do
that? Great, I would like to be first on Google for Greatest
Living American."

So far, Stephen Colbert has gotten his legion of loyal fans to
commandeer online voting to name a bridge in Hungary and a
hockey team mascot in Michigan. Colbert’s suggestions to
change Wikipedia listings have driven Wikipedia editors to the
edge of nervous breakdowns.

Now he’s taking satirical aim at Google search results.

2. Google supposedly fixed that

I kind of doubt it because their fixes usually end up screwing up honest web optimizers and not fixing anything. But they did say this is not supposed to work anymore. We shall see.

4. OTOH

I just took a client out of Google. The page is empty, description empty, etc. Nothing shows up on the cache. And yet, it still comes up in the top ten for its traditional key phrase searches. Weird huh? So maybe they just manually killed miserable failure and are still using anchor text for SERP's. I bet people will try this so there should be some point of time where it starts to work but Google hasn't caught it yet. Then we can see what they're really doing.
