"Nobel Insiders: Beer Summit Sealed it for Obama"...
http://www.borowitzreport.com/index.aspx

" OSLO, NORWAY (The Borowitz Report) - As the world responded with a mixture of surprise and amazement to the announcement of President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize, Nobel insiders revealed that the President's "beer summit" at the White House put him over the top.

"The committee was definitely split down the middle right up until the end," said Agot Valle, a Norwegian politician and member of the five-person Nobel committee. "Some of them were still quite upset about that nasty business with the Somali pirates."

But, according to Ms. Valle, "someone brought up the beer summit, and we all agreed that that was awesome.""

7. "remember the Professor and the Policeman WARS?" - Vaguely...
In my world there are only 3 basic time periods: today, yesterday, and a long time ago. :)

10. The only part I didn't like
was Joe Biden drinking a non-alcoholic beer. In all other respects, this was a pretty awesome move.

12. There are a lot of reasons to drink non alcohol beer
Edited on Sat Oct-10-09 03:06 PM by Warpy
In my case, alcohol triggers migraine headaches. You do NOT want to be around me if somebody slips alcohol into something I'm eating or drinking.

Biden might have simply wanted to keep a clear head until after work.

Or he might be taking some medication with alcohol interactions.

Plenty of reasons to abstain.

16. Biden might not be a drinker.
He might have quit drinking (if he ever drank) after the accident that killed his wife and daughter. He's said that the guy who hit them was drunk.

21. This is interesting..you made me want to look it up..
<snip>

"Mr. Biden then entered the dining car and whispered something to the woman behind the counter, Joanne. He ordered a bottle of water and a “Cranberry cocktail.”

A reporter expressed surprise that Biden would partake of a “cocktail” at this afternoon hour.

“I’m the only guy you know who doesn’t drink,” Biden said, adding that he has never taken a drink in his life.

“Too many alcoholics in my family,” he explained."

Clio will love this pic~

24. I wasn't that smart
and discovered alcohol could get me plastered at 13. Fortunately, road rash from falling off my bike convinced me I shouldn't do anything more critical than sit in a corner and giggle on it and the migraines started to intervene long before I had a chance to develop the family alcoholism.

Drunks in my family don't tend to stop until they are dead.

25. I wasn't either..but made it
through. And, talk about "awesome"..the strength of character to be able to see that and stick with your vow of abstinence.
