WHO SUNK THE TITANIC? The Secret Terrorists that's WHO!
http://www.world-mysteries.com/doug_titanic1.htm

:tinfoilhat:

Another historical mystery or puzzle is: What was the real story behind the sinking of the Titanic? The book 'The Secret Terrorists' printed by Truth Triumphant Ministries and reprinted by Tree of Life Resources places blame squarely on the Roman Catholic Order known as the Jesuits. 'The greatest tragedies in the last 200 years can be traced to the Jesuits.'

They established the national banking cartel called the Federal Reserve System....according to G. Edward Griffin in 'The Creature From Jekyll Island (American Opinion Publishing P. 209). A review of this book stated: 'It tells a story of how bankers have lured politicians with easy money and end up in control of most of the world.'

17. Wait wait wat...
...there's a level ABOVE the Jews?

Dammit, now I have to re-organize my flowchart again. Are the Illuminati still above the Freemasons but below the World Trade Organization?

21. No, Sir: No, No, No....
Illuminati direct the Freemasons; the World Trade Organization is merely a shell company they have set up.

10. Lack of regulation, actually.
White Star, the owner and designers of Titanic, Olympic, and Gigantic (later changed to Britannic), did not use methods well known in 1912 that would have made the ship safer in a collision: double hulls, watertight doors up to the main deck, enough life boats for everybody. They weren't required to do these things and instead opted to spend lavishly on the interior rooms, especially in first class.

20. Since you are well informed about such things
Which shipping companies carrying passengers on North Atlantic run in those years required their ship builders to incorporate those engineering features that you mention.

22. Well, I have tons of books on the Titanic and nautical themes.
(And I was interested in the Titanic story way before the Cameron movie.) I know that I've read that other ships had better designs for quite awhile. Cunard, for example. Without going and looking through all my books I did find this via the Google:
A previous ship, the Great Eastern, had compartments that were watertight on all six sides - but this was very expensive to build. The Great Eastern also had a full double hull all the way to the waterline - safe, but again very expensive to build. But the Titanic had the extra hull layer only on the bottom, not on the sides as well. The full double hull enabled the Great Eastern to survive an 1862 encounter with a rock that opened up a hole 83 feet long and 9 feet wide on her side. http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2005/10/13/1469589.htm

24. You did not answer the question.
Which shipping lines plying the North Atlantic passenger trade built their ship to the standards you cite. Titanic and her sister ships were built to the standards required by the British Board of Trade. This was the same standards that Cunard used for their ship construction. American built ships would have been built to the ABS standards. Double hull construction, watertight bulkheads etc, were not required in those standards. Titanic was not built any differently for other ships of her era. Just larger.

26. Did you even read the article at the link? It talks about Cunard.
Part of the problem was the BOT's woeful lack of updated standards that hadn't been revised with the evolution in the size of passenger ships. Titanic actually had more lifeboats than the BOT required. The BOT, as the name would suggest, was more concerned with TRADE than safety.

Anyhow, besides the Great Eastern as mentioned above, of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company, the German government had stricter regulation. The soon to be launched (at that time) Imperator of the Hamburg-American Line and the already in service Kaiser Wilhelm II and Cecilie: "Not only are the bulkheads through-out the machinery and boiler compartments carried to the second deck above the water-line, but the same spaces, throughout their whole length, are protected by an inner skin in the form of the longitudinal bulkheads of the side bunkers. The large forward engine-room is also protected by two longitudinal bulkheads at the sides of the ship and the after engine-room is divided by a central longitudinal bulkhead...(of Imperator specifically) Altogether, the hold plan shows 33 separate, watertight compartments. The collision bulkhead is carried up to the shelter deck, and the other bulkheads terminate at the main deck, which is about 19 feet above the normal water-line."

And of course my original point was, the lack of regulations is what did in Titanic no matter if other companies were building better or not. Almost any book on the sinking that has any in-depth discussion on Titanic's construction will mention that it was well known at the time that ships could be and had been built safer. I'm sure if you really want to know, you could try googling yourself or perhaps getting some books from the library.
