Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton to Repub Colleague: "stick it up your ass."
Edited on Sat Oct-10-09 10:02 AM by kpete
STICK IT UP YOUR REPUB ASS!!!

(AP) WASHINGTON — Show me some civility, Republicans cried Friday after a Missouri congressman speaking on the House floor was caught on microphone apparently cussing out a fellow Missourian.

Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton, D-Mo., had just finished addressing his Republican colleague Todd Akin Thursday.

Skelton then turned to the side and muttered "stick it up your ass."

..............

Skelton's spokeswoman, Jennifer Kohl, said the comment was not intended to be broadcast and was "said out of frustration in the heat of debate." She said Skelton, a veteran lawmaker known for working well with Republicans, planned to apologize to Akin.

The dispute arose over opposition from Akin and other Republicans to inclusion in a major defense policy bill of a provision extending federal hate crimes law to include violence against gays

7. The frustration from all the sniping got to him.
I can see how having to listen to those smug, smarmy hypocrites could make one lose their temper.

It happens, it's regrettable, but for crying out loud, the Republics have name-calling and vulgarity down to a fine art after doing it for twenty years now.

It is their modus operandi. When someone does it right back, they have no high groung to preach from.

10. I am Impressed With Skelton's Response Here
Wow, I'm actually very proud of Skelton, who is known for being so conservative generally, if the story is accurate here. Skelton got so upset because Republicans were fighting the addition of hate crimes coverage for gay victims, as part of the Armed Services bill? That is very impressive, all by itself. Maybe Skelton got a sense of some of the hate that gays receive, or was just sick of Republicans trying to kill everything. Either way, I am impressed.

and beat the shit out of him. I know there was a time when if we got to the point of telling someone to stick it up their ass the fight was about to begin.

13. Parliamentary debate.
Maybe the british are able to act more civilly on the streets, because they get to see their Parliament representatives really speak on their behalf in the Chambers of Parliament?
