Natural Balance pulling Venison formula dog & cat food.

Itchmo has confirmed an email from Natural Balance that they are removing two products from sale:

Venison and Brown Rice Dry Dog Formula
Venison and Green Pea Dry Dog Cat Formula
These products do not contain wheat gluten. No deaths or serious illnesses have been reported and no recall warning has been issued. The warning applies only to products sold in the last week, according to Natural Balance.

Please know that at this time we are removing this product from the shelves, as we have had some phone calls indicating gastric upset after eating this formula. At this time, we are unsure if this could just be a particular batch problem, or simply customers switching diets too fast. However, in the meantime while we are looking further into this matter, we are not recommending to feed this formula, and are suggesting to feed our Potato and Duck or Sweet Potato and Fish Dry Dog Formula.

Maybe this is just paranoia, but I started makinghomemadedog food a little over a week ago, and I don't intend to stop any time soon!

What in the hell is going on with the pet foods, and WHEN IS IT EVER GOING TO STOP?

2. I agree with you, and I probably wouldn't have bothered if all these

recalls would have been the really cheap brands that I would never consider buying at all, butit's NOT just the cheap brands only! I don't want to speculate on the price of this Venison based food, but I'm POSITIVE is't NOT CHEAP! This is the kind of food people pay EXTRA for because their dear little pet has food allergies of some kind.

I found a good recipe that's fairly easy to make and my dogs love it! I really don't think it costs any more than a decent dog food, other than taking a little of my time. I made a large batch the first time, and it lasted for a week...and I have 4 Bichons!

3. Yep, Natural Blance was one of the brands people were going to

because it had no products recalled. Can't trust any of 'em!

I cooked for a while and last week I did get Evo from Innova..still indecisive whether it is better to cook or to get Innova...

my trust to government agencies is long gone..not sure whether any companies can be trusted...

Yesterday we reproduced an Itchmo report of the voluntary recall of Natural Balance venison dry dog food formulas. Today we received a correction to the original report that the varieties affected included both of the following dry dog and cat foods:
• Venison and Brown Rice Dry Dog Formula
• Venison and Green Pea Dry (not Dog) CAT Formula
