He's so excited. The most horrific killing in American History. It's never happened before. The monster. Horrific.

Sheesh.

4. Wolfie did that earlier on CNN, needed a full change of clothes.
Had to hose him down. I swear I saw him smoking a cig and had a shirt on that said, 'we're back in business!' And confetti with balloons falling down from the ceiling.

5. Vietnam War? Iraq? They are a part of our history
That is not to make this tragedy smaller, it is to frame our need for violence which leads to more violence.

To hear Bush on television saying that it was such a horror to hurt school children was an indication of how far out of touch he is....
HE kills innocent school children in Iraq everyday.

He kills our soldiers everyday in Iraq as well as thousands of babies and school age children.

He shows us what we don't want to be and he has the nerve to be "so saddened" by the VT tragedy.

He wears two faces and no clothes.

6. What I find odd about this shooting
is why are they with holding all the information on the shooter. I know that a lot of stuff was given to the media by someone, but there has been no, not one, official announcement about who the person was. They said he had no identification. But someone found out he was a person with a student visa. As I said the authorities silence on this is odd.

9. They're not sure it was only one shooter.
Further, I doubt they've been able to contact all the families, including the (purported - the one found dead) shooter's family. The media speculates more than enough for everyone - I'm patient enough to await the reasonable certainty of an investigation.

14. Also they are smart to treat it as two crime scenes
First of all it is.

Secondly just assuming that it was the same shooter and lumping it all on him could be wrong (what's say we use all that investigation equipment we bought) as this could be cover for another crime. My wife brought this up last night-someone could have known what was planned and used the opportunity to do their business first. Unlikely but there is no reason to jump to conclusions. Investigate it and find out what happened.

15. British news released it first
Much earlier than US media released the information, British news sources had identified the shooter as an Asian male. It was HOURS later that US sources finally started telling details.

8. Well, that was quick. He was a hero here 24 hours before.
I mean, he took on O'Reilly. He was a hero then.

Didn't it occur to anyone that his fight against O'Reilly was as realistic as a WWE steel cage chainsaw match? It was all mutual self-promotion.

Lesson, boys and girls: the enemy of your enemy is not necessarily your friend.

10. You know, somebody should detain him at the border
I mean, doesn't he fit the racial profiling?

I doubt that he ever was pulled aside at the airport "totally at random" ...

16. There's no point in watching *any* news channel today.
Edited on Tue Apr-17-07 07:29 AM by mwb970
There will be no coverage at all of any story besides the shootings, all day long. No Iraq, no Congressional showdown, no North Korea, no Gonzo. Just the shootings.

I plan to watch CNBC for business news and check in on MSNBC every three or four hours to see if there is anything at all new in this "breaking story".

This is the same thing they did with Anna Nicole Smith and recently with Imus. To me, it's a self-imposed news blackout. Think about it. On a "normal" day, MSNBC will cover about ten or twelve stories in some depth. If the government were to impose a news blackout, that number would drop to zero. Today, the number of stories covered will be one. That's just one story away from a total news blackout.
