OK, John Kerry on The Colbert Report, what did you think? I thought
he WAS GREAT! Funny, smart, very serious about the environment and how we can do something good, with the corporations that have the most impact.

1. I agree.
He also showed good knowledge of the show, saying that Colbert should run for president, because he already has his own nation. I think to many guests go on The Report (even now) and have no idear what they're getting into. Kerry actually watches the show so he was more than able to hold his own.

2. He was great
handled Stephen well, came right back at him lickity split. Only problem, the segment was to damn short.

3. I liked the chemistry between the two
they'd make a good act. The liberal and the wingnut. And JK has the most infectious laugh ever.

13. I think he does like him
I saw the smile he gave him at the end when the applause came up and they said a few words to each other off-mic.

17. I try to always mean what I say, and I do think Colbert respects and likes
Kerry, and also think it's mutual, judging from Kerry's evident enjoyment tonight. So very nice to see!

20. That makes three of us
I got the same impression. I've never heard Colbert say he was so pleased to have someone on his show, like he did at the end of the interview. Plus it wasn't a typical Colbert interview - it was more like a little chat with jokes. And with Kerry making half the jokes. It was a really good interview, and the bumper sticker (and Kerry's joke about it) was great.

I wish he could have been on longer! Those interviews often seem too short.

I think he and Kerry really clicked, nice interview.

And I agree with Paulina, Colbert is SOOO HOT!

11. Very cool
I also think he is the most high profile person The Colbert Report has snagged thus far. I personally have started liking TCR more even than TDS of late. Stil love TDS but I think I like TCR more. I love "The Word".

12. "The Word" rocked! I always look for a youtube on it when not watching.
I thought again today, I do hope people 'get' TDS and TCR. I have a niece who watches them, loves them, but doesn't 'get' politics.

23. I want to see the REAL Neilson numbers for those two shows
I think a lot more people are watching than the Republics would like us to know about. Ya know, peer pressure and all, not to mention three re-runs a day and TIVO/DVRs.

Both TDS and TCR have been working subtly on the story's we talk about for a long time.

18. oh I definitely prefer Colbert Report!
He is very clever and talented. The show's premise--that he's a wingnut--is perfect for bringing out the issues Dems want to highlight, and he exposes conservatism as an ideology that doesn't make sense. Honestly I can't watch Stewart anymore, he annoys me that much.

21. I think of them as one show
I can't watch one without the other, and I love both of them. Kerry might be the highest profile politician, but Colbert has had Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Madeline Albright, Kissinger, Bill Kristol (he asked Kristol how the PNAC was working out), and a lot of other pretty high profile people.

I just can't imagine having ONLY TDS or ONLY TCR - they have to be together!

24. Same here!
I always watch them together. If I had to choose one, I would have to choose Colbert.... I get the most consistent laughs from his show. :) But I think both of them are absolutely brilliant!

his responses to complicated questions maybe he is not as saleable as others but IMHO he is a good candidate.

26. Colbert is a BRILLIANT person, and he likely knows Kerry's true contributions to this country
which are hard to match for most lawmakers put together.

There are far too many UNSCHOOLED and DUMB Dem pundits and columnists who can't even thread a timeline needle.

There are far too many Dem LAWMAKERS who work AGAINST anti-corruption, open government Democrats like Kerry in their efforts to protect the established powers - and THAT is why the corpmedia performs its hatchet jobs on men like Gore and Kerry. If Waxman was running for president, whaddya think would happen to him?

31. I loved the interview and it was
one of the best, if not THE best in my opinion. I love Colbert and Kerry both and it was a treat to see them get along. It certainly seemed like they were simultaneously mutually impressed with each other in each other's presence, a rarity on Colbert! I was swooning by the time the show ended! :-)

32. Colbert is very well read, so it's not surprising that he would be more familiar with Kerry's
actual accomplishments against tough opposition for over three decades now.

He certainly has a greater grasp of facts than any 50 DC establishment favorite pundits and columnists put together.
