Meet The Press Wins Big Ratings Again with Rachel Maddow On
"Meet the Press" had a convincing win this past Sunday, taking the top spot among Sunday talk shows with an average of 3.140 million total viewers. That's 17.6% more than second-place "Face The Nation" (2.670 million) and 19.3% more than third-place "This Week" (2.630 million). "Fox News Sunday" averaged 1.190 million total viewers.

"Meet the Press," moderated by David Gregory, featured US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice and a roundtable including The New York Times' David Brooks, The Washington Post's E.J. Dionne, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, and Republican strategist Mike Murphy.

It was Maddow's second appearance — the first, on August 16, drew 3.359 million total viewers for the show's highest delivery since April.

1. They might get 5 million if Gregory would let Maddow talk.....
and might get 10 million if they simply replace Gregory with Maddow.

3. I don't think so.
It would be too much like real journalism.

6. Actually, I'd like to see Lawrence O'Donnell in the head spot.. and Rachel on

8. +1~ and not just because I'm in love with Lawrence O'Donnell.
He'd be a great insightful interviewer too!

9. Yes, he knows a lot of the back issues because he worked in the town for so long.
He understands policy issues and could ask some really good questions. I think he's rather balanced when it comes to asking questions of anyone in regards to actual issues and policy.. He's not a big gotchya.. but if someone is lying to him and he knows it, he will call it out. AND when he does, he doesn't even break a sweat.. calmly and cooly says you are lying or answer the question straight.. you aren't answering what I have asked. He would be wonderful on a Sunday AM.. The right temperature for a Sunday am with a cup of coffee.

Dancing with Rove drives me nuts.. his entire demeanor is a smwarmy, little shit. He's so full of himself, I could pop him with a pin and watch him deflate like a cartoon bubble.

10. All true. And you can see how much he PERSONALLY actually cares and IS interested.
It's not just a paycheck to Lawrence O'Donnell. He's no machine puppet mouthing cliches like most on-camera "talent".

11. Oh, I'd love that. I'd like to see him with his own show.
He's not afraid of holding people's feet to the fire, either.
