4. I'll second that, whaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
This poster once started a thread about my grandfathers bombing unit, or at least I thought he did since the post was so unclear. I jumped on board and asked him a question, and got the most non-sensical answer ever.

I saw another one that didn't make one iota of sense. Hey, maybe it was a good Happy Hour?

10. There was this time - I thought the kid would live -
You know Monkeyman - I thought for a split second - I would not be the parent that lost a kid in a war.

Then reality came into it.

He is dead.

My brothers were all GIs in the other war - and I look at this one - with contempt.

He is a dead man walking.

And I hold those officers responsible.

I know them - really well.

I can do that.

Joe

12. Doesn't matter.
I think the german offcers - I forgive. They killed my family and all that. I think I forgive them. Japan - I do NOT forgive. They can rot in hell.

My kid - he is just a casuality of war. He is a good kid.

He knows war - like mom and dad and all that.

I will never forgive these officers- not in my life.

I know what they did.

SO they can rot in hell too.

Bastards!!

13. But it does matter Joe
What they send these youngsters to do is enough to so damage their souls esp as they grow older and contemplate it. I don't know that I so much blame the officers as those who put these beautiful young people in this position. I am holding you and your son in my thoughts.

14. I am a numbers guy -
Maybe the kid doesn't come up alive now -

Maybe -

I am telling you - I know those people very, very well.

Officers of the United States - well, then they better do the right thing.

I spent years figuring out this.

There is a right and a wrong - they better get it right here.

Or they should resign,

Joe

16. I hope your kid is okay, Joe.
And I hope this war ends before he or any other kid gets hurt or killed - - enough is enough.

It must feel hopeless to be a parent of a child deployed for a war like this one :(

I hope tomorrow is more peaceful for you.

15. Hi joe
I replyed to your other post about the soda but I don't know if your posting there anymore. I don't think people here are trying to insult you, I think they just don't understand and they think it is one of those threads that sometimes pop up and everyone just piles on with silly stuff.

Don't worry about it. It's not important.

How are you doing? My husband was on a flight from Frankfurt to Kuwait City with a bunch of young G.I.s
He was telling me how talking to them brought him back to when he first joined. And your right...good kids.
