Jeb Bush: Stop Blaming My Brother for Driving the Country Off a Cliff
By: Blue Texan Thursday October 8, 2009 10:30 am

Jebby is a little miffed that people keep holding W. responsible for totally wrecking the country.

Asked about House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer blaming the former President Bush for the nation's fiscal outlook, Jeb Bush said:

"I was on the plane yesterday coming up to Washington and I heard someone complain that their child's acne was because of George Bush. Of course last week the Olympics didn't come to Chicago, that was my brother's fault. And at some point people are going to have to put on their big-boy pants and assume responsibility for the great challenges and opportunities our country has..."

Damn straight.

Act like a Bush, Democrats. Man up, take responsibility!

President Bush on Friday put responsibility squarely on the CIA for his erroneous claim that Iraq tried to acquire nuclear material from Africa, prompting the director of intelligence to publicly accept full blame for the miscue.

"I gave a speech to the nation that was cleared by the intelligence services," Bush told reporters in Uganda.

Don't blame others for stuff that happens on your watch.

Nobody organized this country or the international community to fight the terrorist threat that was upon us until 9/11. … We were not left a comprehensive strategy to fight al-Qaida.

Quit making schoolboy "the dog ate my homework" excuses.

"When I took office, our economy was beginning a recession," Bush said in a speech at a Mississippi high school. "Then our economy was hit by terrorists. Then our economy was hit by corporate scandals."

You're in charge. Put on your big-boy pants, you Democrat pansies.

I think when the history of this period is written, people will realize a lot of the decisions that were made on Wall Street took place over a decade or so, before I arrived," he {Bush} said.

Because if anyone knows how to cowboy up and assume responsibility, it's a Bush.

the political scenery could quickly become overrun with wild Bushes. The seedlings once again are beginning to sprout through.

72. Hey Jeb, What Do You Have Against The American People?
The American people passed judgement last November. The verdict, Jeb, was that your brother was responsible. Otherwise we would be saying President McCain today. Isn't it about time you face reality. The last election was a referendum on your brother's performance and it was found lacking.

This country is full of rich boys that think they got their's the hard way. Jeb is just another one. Being more intelligent and articulate he would be nothing if not even more dangerous than his brother.

And W Bush? He did take us off a cliff. The evidence is all around us. He ruined this country.

Jebbie gives me the "heebie-jeebies" and I DON'T think he's out of my life down here in Florida! I doubt his "ego" or his "fire" has been quelled!

Living in Florida I wonder all the time about what he's going to do!! Is he waiting to raise his head for a POTUS run, or will he go for Senator?? I don't know, just as I keep wondering WHY Martinez quit so soon! Haven't figured that one out yet! Might be linked to Jebbie, but if anyone knows, please respond. I think Martinez would have been re-elected given the fact that he has "name recognition" and it's hard to defeat that here in Florida!

Just think... Billie Nelson, the RAT!!

There was a time when Katherine Harris was my Congressional Representative, FOR TWO TERMS! But, I try to deal with it on a daily basis and there are times when I feel like "the white seed" in a watermelon!! REALLY!!

7. Bald Faced Lie

****************
A low level CIA officer found a bunch of errors in "The Africa letter" that was the source of the nuclear materials that Saddam
was said to have tried to obtain. Such as some of the people sited were dead and misspellings of names. The White House was
told on a # of times that the CIA could not back up such claims.

The D.O.E. told the White House that the aluminum tubes that Saddam had imported could never be used for enriching uranium.

Don't blame others for stuff that happens on your watch.

Nobody organized this country or the international community to fight the terrorist threat that was upon us until 9/11. … We were not left a comprehensive strategy to fight al-Qaida.

Clinton began a terrorism task force to gather all the intelligence and evidence they could on OBL and AQ and other terrorists organizations. They were working to get the Taliban to hand over OBL in 2000 and the Taliban had agreed to do just that, they just wanted to wait until Bush's admin took over to be sure that the new admin would honor the deal. Bush had no clue who OBL was, didn't care about the terrorist intelligence that had been gathered. The Taliban tried to hand over OBL in February of 2001. That offer was either ignored or out right rejected.

And after 9/11 it was Bush who disbanded the Terrorism Task Force.

The whole family needs to go find a hole and crawl into it. They need to stop making excuses and they need to put on their big boy pants and accept responsibility for GW's total failure. They supported him, encouraged and empowered him. The least they can do now is shut the fuck up.

27. If only Bill Clinton hadn't given Eve that damned apple!
George Bush and Bill Clinton go drinking...

They meet at a little out of the way pub and spend the evening drinking and telling war stories.

Being an dry drunkard, Bush gets blind drunk and by the time the bar closes, he can hardly walk, let alone, ride his War-Mart mountain bike home.

Being a good hearted sport, Mr. Clinton volunteers to give W a ride home. Bill almost has to carry Bush to the car, but he gets Shrub strapped in and they pull out of the parking lot and head toward Bush's house.

As soon as they start down the road Bush passes out and vomits all over himself. After a few miles Bush wakes up and he is scared shit-less, because Pickles had just bought him the new shirt he's wearing and now it's all covered with puke and it stinks to high heaven.

Bush starts crying his eyes out and tells Bill he's scared to go home, because he just knows pickles will kick his drunken ass up between his shoulders.

Bill Clinton calmly tells Bush to get out that big roll of cash he has in is pocket and to put a 20 dollar bill in his nasty shirt pocket. He tells Bush to just tell pickles that "Bill Clinton got shit faced drunk and puked all over my new shirt!" Then Bill goes on to say, "Then just take the 20 bucks out of the shirt pocket and give it to her and tell her I sent the money to pay for having the shirt cleaned!" To which Shrub replies, "Damn Bill you're alright for a democrat, that story just might work!"

Bush puts the money in the pocket and quits crying and sobbing and when they pull up in front of shrub's house, Bill lets drunk W out and drives off!

Pickles meets Shrub at the front door and when she see what a drunken mess he is, she lights in on him like a chicken on a june bug. "Damn you Junior, I thought you'd "quit drinkin' again" and just look at the new shirt!"

Bush pulls the money out of his shirt pocket, hands it to pickles and sez, "Here Darlin', Bill Clinton got drunk as a skunk and puked all over my new shirt, but he sent you this twenty dollars to pay for the laundry bill."

Pickles snatches the cash out of shrub's shaky hand and sez, "Why you drunken little wimp there's 40 dollars here, not 20 dollars!"

To which Bush answers in his defense, "Oh yeah honey lamb, I almost forgot. Bill Clinton shit my damned pants too!"

I live in California and we had double Reagonzap. He was our really lame governor and even after that the fools elected him president. He did set the stage for all of the most obnoxious conservative policies. I can't understand why so many people remember him so fondly. He was poison.

117. This isn't actually a funny anecdote, but it concerns "St. Ronnie".
At the same time that he was beginning the dismantling of America, my father was in a nursing home dying from early onset Alzheimers. One day while I was visiting my Dad, RR was saying something inane on TV.

My Dad was getting pretty bad by then but when he heard and saw RR on TV, he turned to us and said "I know that my mind is almost gone, but at least my mind is still in better shape than that stupid SOB".

It wasn't a happy time, but at least that gave us a smile.
Of course when he ran for re-election, my sister said that if the country was stupid enough to give him 4 more years, she was getting the hell out. The country was and she did.

"W" doesn't deserve all of the blame, we should also put his pathetic excuses for parents in prison along with Jeb and while we're at it, find Prescotts' remains and put them in prison for good measure. What a disgusting, traitorous and evil bunch of cells that gene pool produced.

193. I'm sorry about your Dad....
He was right though. Ronnie was never a brain trust he was simply a useful tool for the hard conservatives who were shaping the legacy that Bush continued and ran into the ground.

I don't blame your sister for leaving. She was probably smarter than the rest of us who stayed, and I hope she did well.

I'm with you in the last paragraph. It was and remains a polluted gene pool. One of my worst fears is that one of the children of their corn will take to politics and be elected to something; anything. I think this country has had as much of that family as it can survive and still remain intact. They left so much chaos, I don't know how long it will take to repair it.

She met a guy from Germany and they've been happily married (in Germany) for over 20 years.

Man it is scary the way that the Bush family breeds like cockroaches.
I think we're always going to be looking over our shoulder for the next insect to crawl out from under a rock.

Thanks for the sentiment re my Dad.

I lost my Dad in 1998 to a heart attack and my mother to a stroke in 2004. You never stop caring or loving your parents even when they are not here any more. No other relationship is ever quite the same. They begin your life and celebrate your existence in ways that are unique.

I'm glad your sister has had a good life, and Kathmandu with all of its associations was a great place to start a new life.

197. My sister loved Nepal for the most part.
The part that was hard for her was that she volunteered at a clinic run by The Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity started by Mother Teresa. She said that it never got easy watching the suffering of the Nepalese, especially the children. She wished that Americans who had to have the latest toys and gadgets could see what real suffering and hardship was.
Diseases such as Leprosy and TB were seen almost every day along with starvation, malnutrition, abuse and just about any other horrible thing that most Americans rarely see.

I should probably save this and post it whenever I see a post complaining about some minor annoyance so they realize just how lucky they are.

Our parents raised us well. They weren't perfect, but it doesn't make their loss any less painful.

198. You could save the post ....
Not only to put things in perspective for people who have a lot and don't realize it, but to inspire others who might want to help alleviate suffering themselves. Your sister traveled far to bring help, but people here don't realize that though poverty and suffering here are not so severe, they still could use some attention and kind hands to alleviate them.

Parents aren't perfect, but neither are we. What I remember most about my parents is the things they gave me that have lasted my whole life. Imagination, curiosity, the desire to learn, humor and the realization that the best way to live is to reach out to others in kindness and try to help. Those qualities and all the moments large and small that being a part of a warm family bring you. I still live in the family house with my husband. We moved back to care for my mother so that she would not have to leave her home to go into a convalescent hospital or assisted living arrangement. I'm really glad we had that time together. I feel very rich because of it, and even now very close to my mother because I got to know her well as an adult and understand her better.

199. Parents are indeed not perfect which of course proves that they are human.
My parents made mistakes but emphasized the same qualities that you mentioned.

The biggest thing that they stressed was that you should never stop learning just because you are done with school.

They were struggling financially at times since there were 6 children to
take care of. My Dad wasn't making a lot of money as a Veterinarian. Once he gave up that and started working for the USDA, they still didn't have very much money at the end of the month.

Despite that, the one luxury that they deemed necessary was to buy the World Book Encyclopedia so that we had access to reading and learning every day of the year. The one thing that I'll always remember about my childhood is spending hours and hours reading the World Book. I should point out that they didn't make me do the reading, they allowed me to discover things that they knew the schools would never teach me.

Hopefully their reign of terror is over and true DEMOCRACY will once again prevail when the elderly in these regions die out (which they will) and their uninformed children are educated thru better dem policies, and their sick get healed thru democratically legislated bills.

I've come to the conclusion, it's all a waiting game to wait and see all the southern and southwestern states to come around. And come around, they will.

80. Hey Jeb,
Your bro was left with the following by President Clinton:

A comprehensive strategy to fight Al-Qaida (which he did not bother to read until 9/12/01 because he was too busy stealing)
A budget surplus (which he subsequently squandered while DOUBLING DOWN ON THE NATIONAL DEBT)
Low cost oil (which your bro promised to make even cheaper; however, we saw $150/barrel oil and $4+ gasoline)
A healthy housing market (which he fucked up for the next decade by trying to create the "onership society")
A healthy financial system (which became FUBAR through the non-regulatory environment your brother advocated)
A healthy, robust military (which your bro almost smashed through stop-loss, multiple deployments, not finishing the first fight to go off on his "little" Iraq adventure, and not equipping the troops properly to fight an irregular war)

So don't get your panties in a twist when the American people talk smack about your bro, because they speak the truth, which is more than what your bro ever gave the American people in 8 years of office.

74. Jebby's Wife Tried to Screw With Customs - Jebby makes excuses
http://www.sptimes.com/News/62299/State/Gov_Bush_says_his_wif.shtml

TALLAHASSEE -- Gov. Jeb Bush said Monday that his wife misled U.S. Customs officials about $19,000 in new clothing and jewelry she brought into the country because she didn't want him to know how much she had spent on her five-day Paris shopping trip.

Forced to explain his wife's actions at the Atlanta airport Thursday, Bush said Monday that the episode had disrupted their family life. His wife, Bush said, feels "horrible about this."

"It was a difficult weekend at our house," Bush said.

On Friday, the Bushes disclosed that Columba Bush had paid a $4,100 fine and was briefly detained by Customs agents for failing to declare merchandise when she arrived at Hartsfield International Airport. With that, the low profile enjoyed by the governor's quiet wife ended. "Shop 'til you drop," read a headline Saturday in the Bush's new hometown paper, the Tallahassee Democrat.

In his first public remarks about the Customs fine, Bush on Monday declined to specify exactly what his wife had purchased, and he tried to guard her privacy.

"I love my wife more than life -- she is my comfort and I am very proud of her. . . . What she does with our money is our business -- she can deal with that with me," Bush told reporters before signing into law the education reform package that is the biggest achievement of his first year in office.

The U.S. Customs Service, meantime, disclosed that Mrs. Bush had been given two chances to truthfully identify the amount of federal duty she owed on her purchases.

On a mandatory declaration form handed out Thursday on her Delta flight from France to Atlanta, Mrs. Bush falsely stated she had purchased $500 worth of goods, according to the Bushes and a U.S. Customs service spokesman.

Customs agents then found some shopping receipts in her purse. But Mrs. Bush declined the opportunity to change her declaration, Customs spokesman Patrick Jones said.

After that, Customs agents searched her luggage and found the merchandise. At that point Mrs. Bush confessed to all of her purchases, telling agents she did not answer truthfully at first because she did not want her husband to know how much she had spent, according to Bush spokesman Cory Tilley.

Mrs. Bush's civil fine of $4,100 was three times the duty she owed. She returned home to Tallahassee Thursday evening -- with her purchases.

75. Jeb Bush's daughter charged with prescription fraud
http://archives.cnn.com/2002/US/01/29/jeb.bush.daughter.drugs/

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (CNN) -- The daughter of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was arrested early Tuesday after she allegedly tried to fill a false prescription at a Tallahassee, Florida, pharmacy, police said.

Police arrested Noelle Bush, 24, at about 1:15 a.m. EST at a Walgreens drugstore and charged her with fraudulently obtaining a controlled substance, a jail spokesman said. Police said she was attempting to pick up Xanax, a sedative used to treat anxiety disorder. The drug can make users feel drowsy and dizzy as it reduces nervousness and tension.

However, Xanax also is growing in popularity in the club drug scene, where it is used as a "parachute drug" taken to reduce the impact of the drug ecstasy, said Joe Kilmer of Drug Enforcement Administration's Miami office.

Bush was released pending a court appearance.

According to the police report, she told one of the officers she was due to begin a new job Tuesday morning with Infinity Software Development, Inc.

A statement from the company said Bush was to begin a job as an entry-level human resources administrative assistant.

"Due to personal circumstances, she was unable to begin her job. Infinity's job offer still stands and will be waiting when she is available to return to the workforce," said the statement from Infinity CEO Tom Lynch. "My thoughts and prayers are with the Bush family."

Fraudulently obtaining a prescription is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, said Leon County State Attorney William Meggs.

82. here's a little something I wrote (with a friend) back on February 1, 2002 about the Bush Family
No Value for Their Money

by Bridget Gibson and James G. Wilson

"All families have their problems," is becoming a familiar refrain. Privacy for these families should be afforded so that they can "work out" their problems, we are told. The media spends too much time focusing on these problems when they are reporting on certain people's children, we hear. Although such courtesies were never afforded to the previous first family and their relatives, America's conservatives seem to have recently had a change of heart.

Public opinion of Bill Clinton and his extended family was shaped largely by tales of their private lives. The conservative media hammered away mercilessly at them with every rumor, innuendo and outright lie imaginable. Now we are supposed to turn the other cheek and let George W. Bush and his family rule in peace? We don't think so.

If these questions were appropriate regarding the Clinton family, there is no reason to believe that they are now "inappropriate" regarding the Bush family. To ignore reality will make one delusional and ill-informed. It is important that the behaviors of our nation's leaders be examined closely so that we can be certain that our country is being led by one that is capable of leading.

Much about this family has been draped in secrecy and we wish to draw back the curtains and let the light of day shine in. Let's turn a few stones and see what's revealed to us:

On January 29, the eve of the State of the Union address by George W. Bush, a girl was arrested for fraud. In this particular instance, she impersonated a physician to prescribe herself narcotics. This "girl" was twenty-four year old Noelle Bush, one of three children of Governor Jeb Bush of Florida. We thought that it might have been an isolated incident, but it would appear that the Florida Bushes have a number of issues with law enforcement.

It would seem that Noelle was also arrested in Flagstaff, Arizona for shoplifting in 1995. Her brother, George P. Bush, was busted for burglary and criminal mischief in 1994, and her other brother, Jeb Jr., was cited for sexual misconduct on October 2, 2000, in a shopping center parking lot. Knowing that the apples don't fall far from the tree, we must look to the parents of these wayward children.

Their mother, Columba Gallo Bush, was fined for smuggling clothing and jewelry into the United States after a $19,000 Parisian shopping spree. A cursory search on Jeb Bush showed that marital fidelity was not his strong suit. Seems that he really really liked a lady named Cynthia Henderson. They were the talk of the town after several of Florida's major newspapers broke the story.

A lack of "family values" is not, however, limited to the Bush clan in Florida. Last year, there were twin troubles in Texas. Jenna Bush had her day in court on May 16 for underage possession of alcohol. Experimentation with alcohol netted her eight hours of community service and 6 hours of anti-drinking lectures. Being lightly tapped on the shoulder did not appear to deter Jenna. On May 29 (a mere eight days later), Jenna and her twin sister, Barbara, were arrested for attempting to purchase alcohol and possession of fraudulent identification.

Looking up the tree a little higher, one finds George W. Bush. Knowing that he has admitted to frittering his "youth" away and becoming "responsible" at the age of 40, we looked to see what that entailed. In 1968, G. W. Bush was arrested for what he calls a "college prank." It turned out to be a vandalism charge. Not a respecter of other people's property, our George. While the draft was scooping up the sons of less fortunate Americans, George managed to become a part of the Texas Air National Guard, learning how to fly a plane that had been discontinued in combat, and generously agreeing to spend a few weekends, plus two weeks of every year in service to the war effort.

On August 1, 1972, George was suspended from flying for failure to comply with a physical examination. It would appear that he refused to take a physical examination. Why would a healthy young man in his 20s refuse to take a physical examination? Also, he did not attend any drills or perform any service for nearly a year, from May 1972 until May 1973. Did George forget about the obligation to serve and just not show up as required to complete his tour of duty?

Perhaps some other civic duty called to his conscience. In 1972, George uncharacteristically had a sudden desire to perform community service at Project P.U.L.L., an inner-city youth center. There have been some rumors that this desire was linked to an court order stemming from a cocaine arrest and that the record was "fixed" by his father in Houston, Texas. In 1976, at the tender age of 30, Maine police arrested George for driving under the influence of alcohol. George plead guilty to this charge, paid a $150 fine and had his driving privileges revoked in the State of Maine. In 1986, being the dutiful son of former president, George H. W. Bush, he defended him in a drunken rage in a restaurant in Dallas, Texas.

After studying George's behaviors, it was almost refreshing to find that the only baggage his wife, Laura, brings to the table consists of a poor driving record. It was unfortunate that when her abilities were outstripped by reality, the "friend" that she inadvertently killed was her fiancé. Could it be that the smile that appears on her face at all times has been firmly placed there to disguise the horror that must live daily in her soul?

Even further up the tree of Bush "family values" is George HW Bush. He, like his son Jeb, had a real problem with fidelity. While Vice-President, he apparently began an affair with a staffer named Jennifer Fitzgerald. They met back in the days when Bush was the Ambassador to China and the relationship continued into his presidency. It is said that when Barbara Bush found out about it, she went back to D.C. in a state of depression. The press eventually found out about it, and CNN's Mary Tillotson asked Bush if he was having an adulterous affair. Bush was humiliated and refused to answer. The term "believable deniability" may have begun with George H. W. Bush. He later sent someone out to tell the press, 'The answer to the 'A' question is a big NO.' That person was none other than George W. Bush. Was this the father teaching the son that it's okay to lie to the public when you hold office?

Let's come back to George W. for minute here. His record at the age of 40, shows him to be an unemployed alcoholic, an aging ne'er-do-well with a predilection for avoiding the truth. We know that everyone lies on occasion- it's human nature. Many lies are harmless, as in "Oh, yes, that dress (or suit) looks quite becoming. However, George W. may have stretched that loose acceptance to a breaking point this past December.

In a "Town Hall Meeting," he was asked to recount his experiences on the morning of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11th. Here's just some of what he said, "I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the first tower -- the TV was obviously
on." Now, we all know that none of the networks had footage of the first plane hitting the tower
until much later in the day. So, how could he have seen "an airplane hit the tower" before it was aired? This is the kind of fabrication that would cost most presidents their credibility. The truth of that moment, was that he was reading in a classroom of students in the State of Florida and was notified (we were shown the moment on television) by Andrew Card, Chief of Staff, whispering in his ear. The four words that were spoken by Card were "America is under attack." At that time, George W. continued to read to the children for an additional thirty minutes. Obviously, he didn't think it was such a big deal. He later boarded Air Force One and flew about the country while we were told that Air Force One was a target. This, too, proved to be a lie fabricated to justify his unwillingness to deal with the magnitude of the disaster that had stricken all Americans on September 11, 2001.

In fact, given all that we've come to know about the Bush family dynasty's clashes with the law and the truth, they should have been discredited as politicians and legitimate business people long ago. How is it that these people of questionable character (to put it mildly) have risen to some of the highest offices in the land? They do not have a leg on which to stand when it comes to preaching their self-righteous rhetoric. The next time you hear a Bush pontificate on the virtues of morality, integrity and family values, just remember that they don't even know what these words mean.

The "party of 'no'" is exactly what they are: no vision, no morals, no ethics, no scruples, no soul, no heart, no plan, and no motto except this -- "On my honor I will do my best to take what they give me and steal the rest!"

What about the fact he was removed from the Board of Directors of Carlyle Group because he did nothing but tell dirty jokes at board meetings? What about the collapse of Harken Energy, where Chimp cashed out based on insider trading knowledge? If Jeb Bush had such confidence in his brother's abilities, why didn't he spend money and invest in his business ventures?

155. Uh, no. I will always continue to blame not only your brother
but your whole family for driving this country off of a cliff.

If you dont' like it, you can leave the country and never come back. But you do not tell me what to say or what to believe, Jeb.

158. LOl. See it was Clinton's fault that Bush failed, and it's Obama's fault for the mess we're in now.
It's ALWAYS the predecessor's fault if you're a Republican, and it's ALWAYS the successor's fault if you're a republican. Got it???

That's why I'm suffering thru these stupid posts here today by the liberally-pure folks who blame President Obama for the wars that he inherited. Did they think he was just going to load everyone up on February 1st?
