The USA has had a serious case of real bad luck and bad news under the BUSH regime.
My question is this.....is bad luck made, or caused by factors other than happenstance....such as pure and utter incompetance, manipulation, corruption and bad karma? In my years on this planet I can never remember living through such a string of funk inducing bad news in any 6 year period.

We all know what has been transpired since 2001. The question is what are our leaders going to do about it?

1. It is the incompetance...
Many of these things could have been avoided if we had competent leadership at the top.

4. It's not incompetence. It's criminality.
That may lead to incompetence, but incompetence isn't what's rotting at the root of this all. These guys are NOT bunglers. They're shrewd, smart, slick criminals.

NGU.

3. That tends to happen when the mob runs things
Stuff falls off of trucks or just goes missing, buildings catch on fire, people are found dead in the river, etc...

If all the stuff the Bush regime was responsible for had never happened, the rest of the stuff that they weren't responsible for wouldn't seem so overwhelming.

5. Most parents teach their children that you create your own good luck.
Bush was born a moron and he spent the next 45 years practicing to be all the moron he could be. What we are seeing is the result of a leader who is doing a poor job in spite of the fact Americans work their tails off. He is a dead weight around our necks.

11. They shouldn't because it's a lie. Luck is something that
falls on certain people indiscriminately and not on others. Yes, it's fine to teach them about the benefits of hard work and the rewards that they may get from it, but don't lie to your children about luck.

8. Our country is wallowing in corruption and it surfaced out
in the open and without a conscience or even sense of shame since 2001. Politicians lying in public has never been so bold, nor as in your face as it has been this decade. I don't know how we are going to make our government honest again but we need to weed out the corrupt officials first and make sure that the conditions that allowed them to take office are changed forever.

9. There does seem to be a stench of something evil and unholy
On Bush's watch, we've had 1) the worst natural disaster, 2) the worst foreign attack on our soil,... http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=3219392&mesg_id=3219392

13. One almost has to become Spiritual and say our Karma is biting us in our Butts.
All our "clandestine activities" through the Cold War years are coming home to roost. All our help in raping our planet through dirty dealing is causing weather distruction.

It does make one wonder sometimes about those "Primitives" who saw a comet or eclipse and cowered in fear because they thought it mean bad news. Or, when the locusts and plague's attacked...they thought the Gods were angry with them.

But...that aside...which is just superstition ...still leaves open the question. What have we done that has allowed this?

14. Yes, I too believe that karma has come to bite us in a bad way.
I suppose colonizing this country at the expense of Native Americans and building an economy at the expense of African slaves, not to mention how the African Americans have been treated since they were freed is a start. But since then the things our country has done in South America, Africa and Asia to maintain our hegemony at the expense of those cultures and it's still going on adds to the stew. Now we get to add the murder and mayhem in the Middle East and central Asia to our debt. There is a very big debt to be repaid.
